SCHOOL NEWS

Good afternoon everyone!

Week 8 is almost done and dusted. Another action packed week at LPS! Production practice is in full swing, with whole school rehearsals happening this week. It’s been great for all staff to see each other’s performances and provide an opportunity to polish up some of the finer details of their on stage time!

We also had students represent our school at the Premiers Spelling be in Deniliquin! Congratulations to Luke, Larissa, Aiden & Sydney. Nothing but positive reports and congratulations to all, in particular Sydney and Aiden on their top 10 performances, with Aiden finishing 6th and Sydney finishing in 7th place.

This is also the first week to share some ways to show gratitude to others. They are very simple, but also very simple to forget!

So…here goes – over this weekend, make a deliberate effort to:

- Give compliments & mean them. How often do you give compliments at the moment? I know it isn’t something I do a great deal. It’s something that takes a very short time, but makes a big difference in someone else’s day.

- Make eye contact. I completely understand how busy balancing the work/life balance can be, but deliberately stopping what I am doing and making eye contact during a conversation is a sign to the other person you are present. I am guilty of this a lot with my kids, often asking them a question, then getting caught up with another task I need to complete. Eye contact – again, something simple, but important to allocate a few minutes to doing.

That’s all for now, have a great Friday and a better weekend. See you all soon,

Brett
