A message from our Principal…
What a difference a week can make! Life moves so incredibly quickly!
While, yes, our daily life has changed quite significantly, it presents us so many opportunities to appreciate so much more. Don’t get me wrong, there was genuine frustration around the unknown and what was going to be, but ultimately, we are all going to do the best we can with what we have!
A few key points I would like to pass on to you:
- Both your wellbeing and your children’s wellbeing needs to be the number one focus. If either you or your child/ren need a break, take one. Learning from home (& teaching from home) is a new experience. Find joy in it, rather than feeling like you need to ‘crack the whip’. Learning packs are there as a guide for you.
- This is new for teachers too. We are trialling different tools and strategies that we think will be beneficial, so bear with us. We are using this period of time to iron out some lumps and bumps. It looks as though at least the first half of Term 2 will continue like this, so this time will be great for all of us to prepare for what is to come.
- Staff are working on a regular daily and weekly schedule that they will share with you. This will be great for balancing out your days/weeks with manageable workload as well as some interactive sessions for you too. This is currently under construction but will be with you ASAP.
I will keep you updated with updates as we go. I encourage you to keep in touch with your child’s teacher as often as you need.
I look forward to seeing you all soon!

Harmony Day
On Tuesday the 17 March students participated in various Harmony Day
activities within the classroom. Harmony Day is a day to celebrate our cultural
diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for every-
one. Our whole-school art installation this year was created showing the
Harmony Day message; ‘Everybody belongs’. Each student created a self-
portrait of themselves, showing their identity. Each self portrait links with all
others forming the colours of a rainbow, living in harmony.
BOOK FAIR
Thank you to everyone who supported our book fair . The last minute changes
were less than ideal but we truly appreciate everyone who trusted their
children with cash, or made an online payment, to support our school. We sold
$5,855.60 worth of product, earning us $1,756 in commission. This will be
spent on books and school resources to support your child's learning at LPS.
Thank you also to Bec Willis and Sally Oates for their assistance on the day
and all classroom teachers who also had to be flexible at late notice.
Finally, well done to the students of LPS for the safe, respectful and
responsible way they conducted themselves during the book fair.
Hope you all enjoy your purchases!

SPORT NEWS
The first seven weeks of Term One were busy with sporting opportunities at LPS students. Unfortunately this
has subsided recently. We would like to recognise the efforts of the following students and wish them all the
best if trials and championships go ahead in the future.
Riverina Swimming – Finn McDonnell (Unfortunately the NSWPSSA Swimming Carnival has been cancelled.)
Riverina Girls Basketball – Ellie Lyons (Unfortunately the NSWPSSA Girls Basketball Carnival has been
cancelled.)
Riverina Boys Cricket Squad – Mitchell Clarke has progressed to a squad of 24 players. He participates in a
winter training program and attends the final trial in late Term 3.
Eastern AFL trials – Mitchell Clarke, Isaac Felder & Finn McDonnell (Unfortunately the NSWPSSA AFL Carnival
has been cancelled, therefore these trials will not go ahead.)
The following students were chosen from our school to attend the trials;
Albury Netball trials – Ellie Lyons, Zoe Rixon, Tarnie Sklenar, Lucy Summerill, Zahna Deery and Emilie
Yensch.
Riverina Hockey trials – Naseeha Ghanee (this has been cancelled)
Albury Zone Soccer trials (Boys) – Alex Saunders, Amissi Mosi, Aydan Castles, Justice Fell, Nurul Salami,
Samuel Ndahire (this has been cancelled)
Albury Zone Soccer trials (Girls) – Tarnie Sklenar & Jessica Mercer (this has been cancelled)
All of Term 1 and Term 2 Knockouts have also been cancelled.
In making these tough decisions the NSWPSSA has explained that the health and wellbeing of everyone
involved in such programs is paramount.
These cancellations are difficult to fathom but totally understandable considering the current social distancing
parameters.
Hopefully all Term 3 and Term 4 sporting opportunities can resume for our students.
