IPVEA PV Matrix gearing up for official launch at EU PVSEC

Pv matrix – a dynamic central resource connecting the Pv value chain – will showcase on the iPveA stand/members’ pavilion at the 26th eu PvSec, location hamburg, 5-9 September 2011.Governments, many in Asia, are rethinking and reassessing energy policies and investment plans that could place greater emphasis on renewables, including Pv, over nuclear as a means to generate electricity from non-fossil fuel sources.

Promotion of a knowledge resource that facilitates clearer understanding of the Pv supply chain among the growing number of businesses and organizations planning Pv manufacturing capacity, project developers, investors, equipment, component and materials suppliers and other visitors to eu PvSec is an opportunity not to be missed.

Pv matrix breaks down the industry by the main material/technology classifications of ‘silicon’, ‘thin-film’ and ‘organic’, then ‘installation & power generation’, clearly demonstrating how each process step relates within the overall Pv supply chain.

Breaking down the Pv value chain in this way helps to make the Pv industry

accessible to a wider audience. Being part of the Pv matrix can help members identify new market opportunities, increase sales leads, find suppliers and partners and enhance networking.

on the iPveA stand visitors will be able to interact and explore Pv matrix using available touchscreen computers.

It is critical, therefore, that IPVEA member companies update their entries in PV Matrix, by Friday 15 July 2011, in time for its launch at the show.

Members can edit their entries at http://matrix.ipvea.web-republic.de/

PV Matrix Your guide to using the PV Matrix

1. All companies that join iPveA as members are assigned with a

login and password for the Pv matrix

2. The content management system (cmS), or backend, where

Pv matrix member users input information and data about

their company, tools, processes etc., is accessed by pasting the

following link into the web browser…

http://matrix.ipvea.web-republic.de

3. After typing in login and password the Pv matrix member user

can input information according to the following tabs: ‘Profile’,

‘organise media’ and ‘industry & Solutions’.

4. ‘Profile’ tab: This is where the member user updates the Pv matrix

with company information, in fields that include ‘About’, ‘name’,

‘Address’ and ‘Phone’ and so on.

5. ‘organize media’ tab: members can enhance and support

and their entries in the Pv matrix with photos of equipment,

brochures, corporate videos and so on. This is done simply by

clicking on ‘managing media assets’ which enables the member

user to upload images, Pdf documents and footage to the Pv

matrix.

6. ‘industry & Solutions’ tab: This final section of the Pv matrix

enables member users to promote and market their offering

to the Pv industry. The member user can identify every step of

the solar cell process where their company provides equipment

and tools; whether for silicon, thin-film or organic photovoltaic

technologies, while the ‘Knowledge center’ tab accommodates

suppliers of equipment for installation and power generation.

7. every process step category, for example ‘crystal Growing/

foundary’, ‘etching’, ‘Tco deposition’, ‘cdS deposition’, etc., the

member user selects, by ticking the box, can also be ‘edited’, or

updated, with information about the specific tools or items of

equipment the company provides for the selected process step.

equipment images and schematics, brochures, product data

sheets, video can be uploaded to support and enhance the text.

*once a process step box is ticked the category must be edited

otherwise it appears empty on the Pv matrix*
