    MainPurposeoftheJobToberesponsibleforthemanagement,maintenanceanddevelopmentofallICTequipmentandtheprovisionoftechnicaladviceandsupportforICTcurriculumrelatedactivitiestogetherwithinhousedevelopmentandsupportforteachingandlearning.

    KEYTASKSTechnicalICTSupport1.Installnewsoftwareandhardware.2.Secure,securitycodeandensurethesafesetupofnewequipment.3.Setupequipmentsuchaslaptops,dataprojectors,interactivewhiteboards,soundsystems

    andotherspecialistICTequipment,ensuringthatsystemsarereadyforuseandoperatingcorrectly.

    4.Deliverhardwareandresourcestoworkareasandclassroomsasrequired.Configuration&Installation1.Assistincreatingastructuredapproachtorollingoutnewhardwareorsoftware,including

    procurement,testingandassessingtheneedsofusertraining.Server&NetworkSupport1.Performbasicdiagnosticroutines.2.WorktoandgiveguidancetoothersontheICTacceptableusepolicy.3.Performcheckstoensurethatbroadbandconnectivityismaintained.Maintenance1. Develop amaintenance schedule for all computer hardware, software and networks, and

    ensurethatitisfollowed.2.Manage the structure of the school intranet and internal systems and contribute to their

    developmentofotherelearningsolutionsinlinewithBECTAguidance.3.SupporttheimplementationofMISsolutionsasrequired.4.Detect,diagnoseandresolvemostPC,printerandperipheraldevicefaults.5.Maintainelectronicmailaccountsandimplementwhereappropriate.6.Ensureschoolpolicyonstaffandpupilaccesstodataandfilesisimplemented.7.Provideadvice,guidanceandassistance to teachers,pupilsandothermembersof staffon

    developingtheiruseofICTinschool.8.Undertheguidanceofateacherusespecialistskillsandexperiencetosupport individualsor

    groupsofpupilsworkingonpracticalaspectsofthecourse.

  • 9. Produce material and equipment required for teaching as requested, including printing,downloadingofsupportmaterial,worksheetsandhelpsheets.

    10. Identify software, hardware and working practices required to fulfil the functionalspecificationasdefinedbyschoolstaff.

    11.AssistinplanningandimplementingchangestoelementsoftheICTserviceasrequired.12.Takeoverallresponsibilityforthepromotionandobservanceofasafeworkingenvironment

    in the specialist work area including risk assessments, review of safety procedures anddistribution of safety information for all personnel using specialistwork areas includingcleaners,whereappropriate.

    13. Ensure routine safety checks, including electrical tests, are carried out and appropriaterecordsmaintained.

    14.Ensure thesafedisposalofobsoleteequipment,usedconsumablesandwastematerials inlinewithrecognisedproceduresandlegalrequirements.

    Administration&Supervision1.MaintainanuptodateinventoryofICTsoftwareandlicencesinschool.2.Beresponsibleforanefficientstockcontrolsystemandassociatedrecords.Orderequipment

    andsuppliestosecurebestvalueforgoodsandservices.3. Receive and check deliveries and associated invoices, notify the appropriate person of

    discrepancies.4.SupportthefullrangeoffinancialplanningforICT,includingpurchaseoflargeritemsandhelp

    toestimatefuturebudgetrequirements.5.Providemanagementinformationasrequired.6.Invigilateexaminationsandtestsasrequired.StandardDuties1. To actively promote the equalities and diversity agenda in the workplace and in service
