Dental Photography - Shoot Like a Pro
Photography is a useful tool for dentists and dental technicians. Pictures help to record information which can be very valuable for
the preparation of esthetic and natural restorations. In modern dentistry digital work processes are more and more adopted. Digi-
tally processed pictures can make the planning easier and ensure a predictable outcome.
Also the power of dental photography as a marketing tool has to be taken in consideration.
A high-quality homepage with pictures of complex work or single work stages to clear processing steps will emphasize your exper-
tise and support you during patient consultations.
All these different possibilities will be explained and demonstrated during this course. Practical exercises will be done together.

Supranatural: Anterior CAD/CAM Restorations with Natural Algorithms
Complete SKYN workflow-anterior CAD-CAM restorations
The course teaches how to obtain natural shapes and textures directly from the CAD-CAM system, using a digital workflow, with-
out touching the restorations after milling. SKYN is a recipe for individualised, unique smiles. Through this protocol we start to see
the smile from a different angle, to build a harmony of natural, imperfect shapes and textures.
You will learn to replace the symmetry with balance and you will learn to understand the natural optical illusions and designing
imperfection.
The whole process is revealed step-by-step, from design, choosing the shapes and the harmony of the smile, to particular tech-
niques for preparation, impression, isolation and cementing for CAD-CAM, demistyfing digital design. Laboratory stages, with
focus on the 3D painting technique, and in the end, object photography (various techniques for photographing the veneers) and
final photo shooting in the studio. All these stages will be taught both by lecturing and by live demonstration.

Gingiva Tango
Let‘s Dance in Pink and White
This course is based on the study and definition of the shading of colours of the gingival tissue, creating the texture and the colour
of the gingiva, natural aspect of the crowns morphology.
In the workshop we will try to achieve perfection of teeth ride, which we will reconstruct in their original form. Achiving esthetics
will be more difficult to obtain, because of massive bone resorption on the right incisors.
To follow this we will make a bridge with a structure of zirconium - from tooth 43 until tooth 33 - with the four incisors intermedi-
aries, requiring the application of a large-scale artificial gum are, made from the versatile lab-composite SR Nexco.
The first part will be centered on lecture of clinical cases, in what we analyze different shape of lower anteriors.
In the presentation on the layering technique, we focus on both basic colours provided in the kits from IPS Ivocolor Shade and
Stains, IPS e.max Impulse and SR Nexco Gingiva.
Main objectives of the workshop
- Individualization of zirconium and if required on the gum
- Detailed study of form and function of lower incisors
- Layering technique and processing with IPS e.max
- Texture and glaze of an esthetical white part

Mimicking Natural Teeth
In this course, the benefits of using the micro-layering technique in combination with IPS e.max Press Multi to achieve efficient and
esthetic results will be demonstrated.
When working in the esthetic zone (veneers, crowns), it is advantageous to use the IPS e.max Press Multi material as it provides a
substructure that exhibits a transition from dentin opacity to enamel translucency.
The micro-layering technique enables special colour and translucency effects to be achieved without compromising the overall
resistance of high-strength all-ceramic restorations.
The utilization of the facial micro-layering concept significantly improves the workflow efficiency. It allows users to successfully
match existing natural teeth or fabricate multiple-unit restorations that result in harmonious new smiles.
Main objectives of the workshop
Participants will fabricate an anterior crown/veneer. They will experience how effective, esthetic results can be achieved with effi-
cient processes without compromising overall strength.
- Criteria for the selection of the IPS e.max Press Multi material
- Suitable substructure design for micro-layering
- Coordination of basic colour and value to match neighbouring teeth
- Artistic application of internal colour and translucency effects
- Practicing the effective micro-layering concept
- Efficient fabrication of restorations with lifelike esthetics

SR Nexco Flask Press
Veneered in a jiffy
Modern lab composites offer outstanding material and processing properties, a beautiful optical appearance and good clinical
behaviour. Compared to ceramic material, composites are force-absorbing, and this has a positive influence on the chewing
behaviour. Therefore, composite resins are ideal for the veneering of implant-supported restorations. The more extensive the
tooth replacement, the more important the previous analysis and planning by means of a wax-up.
By using the press technique with composite, this wax-up can be converted into the final veneer on either a metal or zirconium
oxide framework. However, a reconstruction of the gingiva is often also required, particularly in implant cases. Therefore, the three
important basic elements of the composite veneering technique are addressed in this course:
- Manual veneering of metal frameworks
- Pressing over zirconium or metal, incl. implant cases
- Reconstruction of the gingiva
Participants will learn how to apply the press technique in conjunction with composite and how to accurately convert diagnosti-
cally planned work (the wax-up or mock-up) into the final restoration. Moreover, the course will provide insight into the different
application possibilities for composite in comparison with ceramics by conveying theoretical knowledge about the material quali-
ties. A pressed-over bridge will be complemented with SR Nexco Gingiva. Moreover, a metal crown will be veneered with SR Nexco
composite materials.
Course objective: application of the flask technique and handling of SR Nexco flask / the cut-back technique / staining and charac-
terization / creation of shape and surface texture / Contouring of lifelike gingival portions / theoretical information about lab com-
posite / achieving a shade match with SR Phonares II / manual veneering in accordance with the IPS e.max shade system.

Balancing the Brightness in Prosthetic Restorations
A good way to understand the brightness of a tooth is finding translucency proportion of it. Irrespective of the desired colour and
translucency, regardless of the thickness of the primary structure, in different types of preparations: minimally invasive, invasive
and non-invasive, the highest esthetical requirements with true-to-nature light scattering and a balanced relationship between
brightness and chroma.
This workshop will demonstrate the versatility of the IPS e.max Press and Ceram, with a wide range of colours and materials, exem-
plifying this on a model of restoration of a front group and posterior 2 crowns in full-anatomical pressed, will be individualized dif-
ferently, with two types of colorations, through a simple and understandable technique – staining technique – which can be used
both in the front group, as well as a laterally group.
In this workshop I will show you tips and tricks for ingot selection depending of the thickness of preparation, colour of the abut-
ment and final colour of restoration, layering techniques adapted so that prosthetic restoration should re-establish the properties
of the natural tooth, both morphology, function and coloristic, then try to copy it, with a inside layer that should recover the value
and initial fluorescence.
- How to choose the right ingots in relative to the prep's (kind and color);
- Explaining staining technique;
- Shade matching in critical color situation and controlling translucency;
- Processing more accurate three-dimensional anatomical shape;
- Glaze and controlling the gloss

Master in Metal-Free
IPS e.max lithium disilicate
In the past few years, patients have become increasingly interested in esthetic restorative procedures. As a result, the demand for
all-ceramic restorations has risen greatly. By employing innovative ceramic components, such as the new lithium disilicate translu-
cent materials, new esthetic options for creating exceptional true-to-nature restorations regardless of the fabrication technique
can be achieved. However, the characteristic that make new materials more integratable from an esthetics perspective, the trans-
lucency of the substructure, is also the most controversial limit. This feature adds a new evaluation parameter, which is essential for
all projects that involve the use of metal-free as a prosthetic solution, especially in the anterior sectors.
In the course Ingots selection criteria will be addressed.
In this workshop, we will finalize 3 units: one central incisor, one lateral incisor and one canine. Throughout the course each tech-
nical phase will be individually photographed. The digital photographs will be immediately inserted into a digital presentation in
order to perform a step-by-step critical analysis of the form and color results of our restorations before proceeding with the next
phase.
The following topics will be addressed in the course
Presentation of the system components | Ingot selection criteria | Shading options | Control of absorption and reflection
Adjustment of different translucencies | Ceramic firing | Shaping and shading by means of an additive layering technique
Imitation of natural surface textures | Glaze firing – corrective firing | Mechanical polishing to achieve an optimized surface gloss
The workshop will be rounded off with tips and tricks that help you to ensure efficient and effective procedures in
esthetic dentistry.

IPS e.max Ceram
All you need for natural-looking restorations
All ceramic materials are state-of-the-art and are of great importance in the today's lab. Also patients request life-like esthetics,
biocompatibility and longevity of the restorations placed. Framework materials made out of lithium-disilicate as well as fluor apa-
tite ceramics are available for individual creations in a wide range.
The ingots offered within the IPS e.max Press system are available in four levels of translucency and Impulse shades and thus pro-
vides expressive esthetic features. The ingots are matched to each other and offer different opacity and translucency levels. The
selection is based on the clinical requirement of the patient (die colour, desired tooth colour) and depending on the preferred pro-
cessing technique. In this course a theoretical introduction on the IPS e.max system will be given supplemented by practical exam-
ples of use. An overview on the indication range will be presented as well as information on colour, translucency, opacity and opal-
escence of the press ingots. In the workshop part different processing techniques will be demonstrated and trained such as layer-
ing technique, cut-back technique and staining technique.
