Principal’s Report

Parent Teacher Interviews Parent Teacher Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday 15th March from 1.30pm to 6.30pm. Thank you to the parents of primary school students who returned the Parent Teacher Interview forms so promptly. We have allocated times based on the responses. It is now time for the second-ary students to book times with teachers. Forms with allocated booking times will be returned to students shortly. Secondary students will then be able to make bookings with individual teachers. Booking can be made at lunchtime tomorrow (Friday 10th) or at lunchtime on Tuesday 14th March. They can also catch up with teachers during class times to make bookings for PTIs on Wednesday 15th. If you have any questions as to the process, timeline or expectations around Parent Teacher Inter-views please contact me (Graeme Holmes) or Assistant Principal Ms Penman on 50833203.

School Council School Council held its Annual General Meeting last night. I am pleased to announce that Ross Brown and Adrian Horman have nominated for Council and are duly elected. Executive positions were filled at the AGM. The leaders of College Council for 2017/18 are:

A list of sub-committee members is available later in this newsletter. A major goal of the Council for this year is to continue the improvement of the school grounds and buildings, especially by moving the shade structures onto the Dodgshun Street campus, overseeing the demolition of the old trade wing, improve the watering system, connect to the pipe water, devel-op a master plan for the school grounds and beautify the front of the school. It is an exciting time for the school as there are many projects in the planning stages and staff, stu-dents, School Council and Parents and Friends are working positively and cooperatively to continue to improve the school and maintain a strong focus on improving student learning.

Student Representative Council (SRC) There is an active SRC working to improve the wellbeing of students as well as to support community and fund raising events. The SRC is led by Chelsea Michael (President) and ably supported by Rocket Lea (Secretary) and Angelika Hakopa (Treasurer). Angelika and Amalie (School Captain) are members of School Council and they report actions and raise issues at Council meetings. It is imperative that students have clear processes and lines of communication to air their views. In this way we will en-sure that we can address the wellbeing of our students and respond to their ideas to the best of our ability.

Swimming Sports Congratulations to the eighteen students who competed in the secondary swimming sports earlier this week. We had many wins and places. Three outstanding performances were recorded by Dylan Marshman, Kiana Marshman and Flynn Grace in winning their age championship awards. Well done Dylan, Kiana and Flynn.

Some reminders Check your child’s hair regularly for head lice.

Safety on buses is a high priority.

Students must wear hats outside at recess and lunchtime – burgundy bucket hats are available for

$5 at the school office.
