(Saturday)
An Orientation Programme
was conducted for the
parents of Classes III to VIII in
two different sessions :
Session I - An ‘Orientation
Programme on Evaluation
and Assessment’ was
conducted by Ms. Prachi
Varma in which parents
were made aware of the
latest changes brought in
by the CBSE which will be
implemented from the
Session 2017-18 in Classes
III to VIII.
Session II - An ‘Orientation
Programme on Health and
Nutrition’ was conducted by Ms. Nidhi Pandey, a famous Nutrition & Diet
Consultant in which she
highlighted various measures
to be taken by parents so that
they can take utmost care of
health & diet of the their
children.
Both the sessions were
informative and enriching.

The Youth Hostels
Association of India
organized an ‘Inter School
Spot Painting
Competition’ which was
sponsored by ‘Reliance
Jewels’ at Youth Hostel,
New Market, Bhopal.
The Results of the competition are as follows :
(1) Group II (Classes IV to VII)
Ms. Avani Bhavsar Telkar of Class VII bagged the First Prize.
(2) Group III (Classes VIII to X )
Ms. Khushi Telkar of Class IX stood
Second.
Ms. Roli Rajpali of Class X received
Consolation Prize.

A ‘Special Assembly on Ram
Navami’ was conducted for the
students of Classes IV to VIII. The
assembly highlighted the virtuous
life of Lord Rama through a dance
performance, a song and a skit. This
assembly motivated the students to
inculcate the virtues like sincerity,
honesty, perseverance, compassion,
truthfulness and to become better
human beings.

path he trod, the ideal he held
aloft and the ordinance he lay
down, they are eternal and
timeless.
In order to inculcate this spiritual
feeling and continuing the legacy,
a ‘Special Assembly on Ram Navami’ was conducted for the students of
Classes Pre - Nursery to II, in which the students depicted the importance of
the festival in the form of a skit
and a musical ballad and enjoyed
whole heartedly. The whole
atmosphere was filled with
devotion and love for Lord Rama.

‘Competition is a good thing; it forces us to do our best’
Competitions are always good for the students to give healthy atmosphere.
‘Tracing My Art Competition’ was conducted for the students of Class I.
Tracing can help children to develop the fine motor skills, which can further
help them with other task such as learning to write. It also helps the
students with developmental disabilities to develop math and language
skills. Kids were really excited to do this tracing activity.

reads lives only one’
The Department of
English organised an
‘Inter House English
Reading Competition’ for the students of Classes IV and V to inculcate the
habit of reading among children. Reading enhances pronunciation, fluency,
voice modulation and confidence of a child. It was heartening to see each
participant give their best performance. Performers were able to
communicate a message to audience artistically.

and Gulmohar & Palash
House bagged the Third
position.

‘If you want to be
more powerful,
educate yourself’
The Department of
Social Science
conducted an ‘Inter
House General
Knowledge Quiz
Competition - Quizomania’ for the students of Classes VI to VIII. The
purpose of the competition was to make knowledge more interesting for
young minds. The four teams namely, ‘The Inquisitive Invaders’,’ The Curious
Crusaders’, ‘The Knowledgeable Knights’ and ‘The Witty Warriors’ battled for
the title ‘Quizogenius’. There were four rounds and all the teams played very
well ‘The Curious Crusaders’ of the Kachnar House won the title.
The Principal, Ms. Vinita
Malik highlighted the
importance of wisdom,
the ability to make
correct judgements and
decisions.

On the onset of the New Session a ‘Special Assembly’ was conducted for
the students of Class XI. The assembly was motivating and guided the
students to have a right attitude. A short story pertaining to the topic
‘Attitude’ was narrated by one of the student of Class XI.

and it is the task of the
sculptor to discover it’
With this spirit and
enthusiasm, the
students of Classes VI
to XII made exquisite
artifacts for the ‘Exhibition on World Heritage Day’ organised by the
Department of Social Science to mark the World Heritage Day. Fine piece of
art which included manuscripts, inscriptions, coins, paintings, jewellery,
pottery, stone tools etc. were put to display.
The Exhibition was
inaugurated by the Principal,
Ms. Vinita Malik followed by
an oral presentation by the
students of Classes VI to XII.
The Special Guests for the day
were the Vice Principal, Dr.
Anita Dwivedi and the
Headmistress, Ms. Anuradha
Telang.

‘The best way to find
yourself is to lose
yourself in service of
others’
To commemorate the
100th year of the famous
‘Champaran Satyagraha’
the students of Classes
VIII to X organised a peace ‘Rally’ in the school.
The students expressed their
patriotism by chanting
slogans. The Rally culminated
with a ‘Tree Plantation
Drive’ which further
cemented the purpose for
which the Satyagraha was
held 100 years ago.

An ‘Orientation Workshop for the New Teachers’ who have joined in the
Session 2017-18 was conducted by Ms. Urvashi Wadhwa, Faculty, the
Department of English.

(Friday) The Department of English
organised an ‘Inter House English Declamation Competition’ for the
students of Classes IX to XI where the students exhibited their oration skills.
The Judges of the competition were Ms. Anshu Kanotra and Ms. Geetanjali
Jha.

A rejuvenating ‘Yoga Workshop’ was conducted for the teachers of Classes
Pre - Nursery to VIII by Dr. Aparna Chanodia & Ms. Neeta Shrivastava.

The Workshop aimed at relaxation of
body and mind. The various Aasans
were taught like, Sukshma Vyayam,
Pranayam, Surya Namskar etc. It also
covered the queries and therapy
sessions. The teachers
thoroughly enjoyed the sessions.

The ‘Meditation Session’ was conducted for the teachers of Classes Pre -
Nursery to VIII by Ms. Neeta Shrivastava. The teachers enjoyed the session
and appreciated the relaxation techniques.

A ‘Workshop on Happiness’ was
conducted by Dr. Geetanjali Jha,
School Counsellor for the teachers of
Classes Pre - Nursery to VIII. The aim
of the Workshop was to equip the
teachers with tools for bursting stress
and being happy unconditionally.
The workshop taught ‘Disha Pranam’
which helps in letting go of all negative
emotions like anger, arrogance,
entanglement, obsession, lust, greed
etc. and to create a space for thriving happiness within one self. The
teachers played a balloon game to expand their comfort zone and facilitate
innocent fun. All the participants were asked to write compliments for each
other. The teachers enjoyed the workshop and wish for more similar
workshops to be conducted.

by Ms. Anshu Bedi and
Ms. Jyoti Pandey,
Faculty, Castle of Dreams
for teachers of Classes
Pre - Nursery to VIII. Ms.
Jyoti Pandey shared
some valuable tips on weight loss and Ms. Anshu Bedi gave some Make - up
tips.
The teachers thoroughly enjoyed the Workshop.

‘To reach a child’s mind, first
reach a child’s heart’
A ‘Workshop on Pedagogy’ was
conducted for the teachers of
Classes Pre - Nursery to VIII by
Mr. Prashant Gangrade, Senior
Manager - Academic Services,
Tata Class Edge. The Workshop
aimed at reaching the mental level of children. The workshop was initiated
by few mental fitness games which enhance the thinking ability of a child.
A brief session on ‘Child Psychology’ was also taken up by Mr. Prashant
which laid a great emphasis on learning disability.
At the end of the workshop,
the Principal, Ms. Vinita Malik
presented the Prizes and
Certificates to all the
Participants and Winners of
‘Tata Class Edge Championship
2016-17’.

The Department of Sanskrit
conducted an ‘Inter House
Sanskrit Quiz Competition’ for
the students of Classes IX to XI.
The aim of the competition was
to help the students to
preserve our heritage language
‘Sanskrit’ which is
acknowledged and
documented to be the most structured and scientific language in the entire
world. The quiz had several rounds which gave an insight into this
philosophical language.

A Workshop on ‘Life Skills’ was
organised for all the Teachers
of Classes Pre -Nursery to VIII.
Mr. Rajendra Saxena, National
Trainer for Skill Development
was the Resource Person for
the Workshop.
The Workshop aimed at maintaining a balance between body and mind, it
laid emphasis on ‘Problem
Solving Attitude’.
