EUS Amazonas Context
The School of Education has other teaching centers in different regions of the country where this career is offered in a distance modality called EUS (Estudios Univesitarios Supervisados).
Students have to study the subject by their own using the instructional material offered by the department of Foreign Languages, and I travel to Amazonas every two weeks in order to meet the students to clarify doubts and assess students’ progress.
Procedure:
o The first session face to face class of the semester the teacher will
explain students how to use their instructional material and what is the
purpose of the wiki.
o The teacher has to ask students’ e-mails in order to include them in the
wiki.
o The teacher will explain students how to access the wiki and give them
some training in the computer lab. If there is no possibility of teach
them in the lab, a tutorial will be sent to students instead.
o The wiki will be fed weekly, so students can work pararell with their
regular classes.
o Any doubt or inconvenience that students may have will be discussed
by the e-mail.
The artefact: What is grammar express?
Grammar express for you is a wiki that was designed for English I students, who want to have additional practice in grammar apart from the explanation and exercises from the book. The idea is that they can go deeper, and understand better the use of some important parts of speech and grammatical structures in order to improve your reading comprehension skills.
It contains the most important aspects that are described in the instructional material but presented in a funny and interactive way which includes videos and other useful resources that can complement distance classes.
