960 target libraries from 895 towns and villages selected based on applications;

Computers for users and periphery installed at 805 target libraries so far; installation of ICT equipment at 155 more libraries by end-2011

3,000 librarians to be trained in 4 thematic areas (1,230 training participants from March to July 2011)

Public Librarian’s Competency Index - 4 Thematic Areas:◦ ICT (11 training days)

◦ Public Library Management (5 training days) and Project Cycle Management / Advocacy (2.5 training days)

◦ Modern Library Services (10 training days)

◦ Soft Skills (6 training days)

130 GLB trainers selected and trained in 2010 / 2011 Self-produced training materials

Pilot phase of the training , March - July 2011 (880 people trained in ICT; 350 trained in the other 3 areas) Full-phase training October –December 2011; 36 training bases (District and Chitalishte libraries) nationwide

Practice-oriented, interactive, experience-based training

750 group training events from January to October 2011:4 918 adults trained in ICT

Trainees are mostly retired people – Internet / Skype communications

Training is delivered by the GLB target librarians

Training events are organized at the initiative of the local target libraries
