TRANSCRIPT
With the advent of Easter, our schedule has been
slightly altered to suit therequired status of the Associationregarding the General Meetingand the bi-annual election ofOfficers of the Association.
As our April General meetinghad Elsie Rolls, Director ofServices at VMB, Camphill, itwas expected that the interest tobe shown in the subject wouldnot allow for the proper amountof time to scrutinize a properelection of Officers. It wasdecided, therefore, to hold theelections during the May GeneralMeeting. I would, again, encourageanyone wishing and willing toparticipate in the management of theAssociation’s affairs to put their nameforward. I have already received twonames of persons wanting to do soand I am looking for furtherparticipation from the membership. This is even more important with theforthcoming Reunion slated for 2010.Although most of the groundwork hasbeen completed, there are some smalldetails that have to be looked after. These will not require a great deal ofanyone’s time, so don’t be frightenedby the aspect of a great deal beingplaced on your shoulders.
You must remember that this is ourReunion and everyone should takepart as much as they can to ensure thesuccess that it should become.
Our Warship Memorial subscriptionfund is receiving an excellent responseand everything is going along welltoward the completion of the taskassigned to the committee. Please keepin mind that the subscription for namesto be placed on the scroll will cease onOctober 1 2009. This will allow for thescroll and the certificates to be madeready for the dedication in 2010.

Golden Memories
The April General Meeting: A section of the exceptionally large number of membersand their guests.
What’s Been DoingI regret that at times we of the
Executive and Board of Directors carryon with our appointed duties and dospend some of the Association’s moniesin accordance with the By-Laws andneglect to keep the membershipinformed as to our endeavours. I will tryto keep up with the process of informingyou as to our intentions, on yourbehave, for the various deeds that we do.
We maintain a close watch on ourbudget, which is open to membershipscrutiny at any time, so as to stay inaccordance of our credo of “ Service andFriendship To Others.”
Our latest projects have been topurchase uniforms and target practicerifles for Sea Cadet Corps in Truro andWindsor, NS. Further, we have aided in
the purchase of drill rifles for the CadetCorps in various locales in Nova Scotia.
We have assisted in the purchase of anew TV set for Veterans MemorialHospital, Camphill, and also aided in thepurchase of furniture for said building.
We have assisted in the manufactureand placing of the various serviceensigns on the appropriate doors of theveterans therein so as to identify theirformer service. These new decals areremovable in case of room transfer.
We continue to provide care andcomfort for our veterans here in NovaScotia and elsewhere with ourChristmas and holiday events with giftpackages.
There are other projects that arecurrently on our books and you shall be
kept informed as to their status whenthe time arises.
