Program Requirements for Honours BA in French:

The Honours French program consists of a minimum of 20.0 credits, of which at least 14.0 must be at the senior level. Students must take at least 11.0 but no more than 12.0 credits in French.

Required courses: FR250, FR251, FR260, FR290, FR360

In addition to the requirements above: Students must complete four of the fol-lowing courses: FR232, FR233, FR234, FR235, FR236, FR237, FR238, FR385; plus four of the fol-lowing courses: FR332, FR334, FR335, FR336, FR338, FR433, FR434, FR435, FR437, FR485.

Honours BA French in Com-bination with another Hon-

ours BA Program

The requirements are the same as for Honours French Language and Litera-ture except that a minimum of 8.0 cred-its in French is required.

Program Requirements for French Minor:

Three (3.0) credits in total including: FR230, FR231 and an additional 0.5 credit in French language; and in cul-ture, three of: FR232, FR233, FR234, FR235, FR236, FR237, FR238, FR385.

Why study French at Laurier?

To develop a set of linguistic and ana-lytical skills enabling the discovery of the richness and diversity of the Fran-cophone world.

To access a wide array of careers in both the public sphere and the private sector.

To acquire a practical marketable skill—functional bilingualism– fulfill-ing the standards of the Federal Gov-ernment.

Special Opportunities Students are encouraged to study abroad at one of the many universities in France available through Laurier In-ternational or at the Université de Sher-brooke in Québec. Students can apply for intensive sum-mer French language courses through the Explore Program, funded by the Ca-nadian Government, and receive credit at Laurier. Students may spend a year teaching English as an “assistant d’anglais” in France.
