Term 1 Week 5 1st March 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

Ellie has arrived!!!

On Tuesday this week, the staff and students of EVPS

were delighted to finally get the chance to meet our

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) mascot, Ellie the

Eagle. Ellie helped me hand out our first Eagle

Awards for the year and congratulated all of our

students on their safe focused and respectful start to

the year. Many thanks must go to our PBL committee

for the hard work they have put in to reinvigorating

our PBL program.

I have heard a whisper that Ellie might be visiting us

again on Monday to draw our first “Gotcha!” prizes

for one lucky student in each stage.

Meet the Teacher

Please drop in to your child’s classroom any time

between 3:15 and 4:15 on Wednesday, 6 March

2019 to meet their teacher for 2019. This is a relaxed

and informal opportunity to introduce yourself to the

classroom teachers and pick up an information

sheet about the year ahead. If you are unable to

drop in on Wednesday, or you require a more formal

meeting with the teacher, please call the office to

make an appointment. Formal parent teacher

interviews will take place in Term 3, after the half

yearly reports go home.

Lion’s Club Childhood Cancer Fundraiser

Thank you to our students, who came to school out

of uniform today and dontated to the Lion’s Club

Fundraiser. I am pleased to report that we raised

$439.25 to support research into Childhood Cancer.

Twister Pasta Day

Congratulations to our canteen manager, Deb, and

her willing band of volunteers, on the success of

their first homemade pasta day on Wednesday

27/2/19. Deb tells me that the canteen made 75

serves of pasta and garlic bread for our students.

I am so grateful for the creative, homemade items

that the canteen is beginning to introduce. I am

also pleased to report that there are a number of

dairy free, gluten free and egg free items available

for purchase, to cater for the dietary needs of our

students.

Zone Swimming Carnival

Last Thursday a whopping 47 students represented EVPS at the Zone Swimming Carnival at Speers Point

Swimming Centre. We experienced all the elements from heavy rain to exhausting sunlight, but our students

were not deterred from giving it their personal best. Several students were successful in their heats and

made it into the finals. All students had a great day and they made the EVPS community proud. A special

thank you to parents and carers who provided transport for our swimmers on the day and to Mr Boatfield for

supervising the students ensuring they did not miss their event.

Join in the fun at our OSHC program, your first session is FREE!*

We are excited to announce that your child can now come and try their first day of Outside School

Hours Care for FREE! This is a great chance for families and children to see what our Camp

Australia program is like.

First Day Free is available to all new parents who register an account with us from Monday 25th

February until the end of Term 1, 2019. Don’t forget to use your session as First Day Free is only

valid in Term 1, 2019.

Note it’s also free to register. Once registered, you can activate your session whenever you like.

We encourage you to register now and to always book in advance. You can register
