We were certainly able to enjoy some beautiful weather. Next week is our last week of Term 1 2018. Wow! As I walked around the playground today, I was followed by the largest swarm of mosquitoes I have ever seen. I am sure that one or two were large enough to put a saddle on! To prevent students being bitten while at school, I would like to encourage parents to apply insect repellent to their children before they come to school. I am happy for students to reapply insect repellent during the day, at recess and lunch, using their own personal roll on applicator. I believe that you can also purchase mosquito repellent wipes and wristbands. Please do not send students with an aerosol can. These can cause respiratory difficulties in many of our students. Students aged 5 to 7 years will run in their age race and then participate in novelty events. Participation in races is based on the age the students turn this year. Field event trials are currently being held at school for Junior, 11 year old and Senior athletes to select qualifiers. The finals of all field events will be held at the carnival. All students who compete in events will receive house points for their team. Student results will be used to select participants to represent EVPS at the PSSA Zone Carnival. We look forward to seeing everyone at the carnival. Cassie Bate-Barnier Principal (Rel) This fortnight in PBL, we are looking at being safe. We are focusing on resilience. Commonwealth Games

Become a part of the commonwealth Games by

coming to school on Friday, 13th April dressed in colours

representing a country from the Commonwealth.

During school sport time, students will be participating in

a variety of commonwealth Game Sports.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you all had a lovely break over the Easter long

weekend. We were certainly able to enjoy some beautiful

weather. Next week is our last week of Term 1 2018. Wow!

As I walked around the playground today, I was followed

by the largest swarm of mosquitoes I have ever seen. I am

sure that one or two were large enough to put a saddle

on! To prevent students being bitten while at school, I

would like to encourage parents to apply insect repellent

to their children before they come to school. I am happy

for students to reapply insect repellent during the day, at

recess and lunch, using their own personal roll on

applicator. I believe that you can also purchase mosquito

repellent wipes and wristbands. Please do not send

students with an aerosol can. These can cause respiratory

difficulties in many of our students.

Athletics Carnival

The EVPS Athletics Carnival will take place on Tuesday, 1st

May. The carnival will be held at Glendale Athletic Centre.

This year all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will be

attending the carnival.

All students will participate in track events. Students aged

5 to 7 years will run in their age race and then participate

in novelty events. Participation in races is based on the

age the students turn this year.

Field event trials are currently being held at school for

Junior, 11 year old and Senior athletes to select qualifiers.

The finals of all field events will be held at the carnival.

All students who compete in events will receive house

points for their team. Student results will be used to select

participants to represent EVPS at the PSSA Zone

Carnival. We look forward to seeing everyone at the

carnival.

Cassie Bate-Barnier

Principal (Rel)

This fortnight in PBL, we are looking at being safe.

We are focusing on resilience. We will look at how to

‘bounce back’ after a problem arises and the key

characteristics of resilience.

Everyone, everywhere, every time!

Positions Vacant

P&C Treasurer (urgent fulfilment required) / Assistant Treasurer / Canteen Secretary / Canteen Treasurer

Our Constitution requires that we fill all of the Executive Committee positions, which includes the Treasurer of the P&C. If

this position is not filled, this effects whether or not the EVPS P&C Association can still operate, which has a flow on effect

for the operation of all aspects of the P&C including CAPA, Canteen and Fundraising (Mother’s / Father’s Day stalls, the

Colour Run, the 60 Year Celebration Fete, etc.).

If you think you can help, WE NEED YOU NOW!

Our retiring Treasurer has a system in place that is simple and straightforward and she is more than happy to hand over

to you as soon as possible.

Please contact the P&C at [email protected] to express your interest, or to find out more information, click here.

Forms can be found here.

Canteen Tuesday Volunteers Needed

We are in desperate need of some volunteers to help run the canteen on Tuesdays. Tuesdays are run entirely by

volunteers and without them we will not be able to keep the canteen open 5 days a week.

Full training will be provided for all that is required. Tea/coffee and a light lunch are also provided.

If you are able to help, please contact Deb on 0403 597 582 or the P&C at [email protected]. You will need to

have a Working With Children Check, which you can apply for by clicking here.
