Term 4 Week 6 23rd November 2018
Dear Parents and Carers,
On Wednesday this week, our Year students attended a
sports gala day at Glendale Technology High School. I would
like to commend our students on their enthusiastic
participation in the planned activities and for their
outstanding behaviour throughout the day. It is incredible to
think that our Year 6 students only have 18 school days left at
EVPS. I am certain that each and every one of our students
will make the most of their last few weeks as primary school
students.
Presentation Day
This year we will be holding a whole school celebration of
academic achievement and excellence on Monday, 17th
December. The assembly will commence at 9:30am and will
take place, weather permitting, on the grass area in front of
the library. Parents, carers, friends and family are invited to
join with us to recognise the outstanding achievement of our
students. Seating will be available and visitors are also
welcome to bring their own chair or picnic blanket.
At the conclusion of our presentation day ceremony, all
visitors are invited to share in a picnic lunch with their children.
A special lunch order will be available and order forms will be
sent home soon.
Following our picnic lunch there will be a Christmas Concert,
led by Mrs Robertson, featuring special performances from
each grade along with our school choir and band. We look
forward to seeing our community come together to celebrate
an outstanding year of fun, friendship and learning at EVPS.
Home Reading
Our Home Reading Program has now finished for this year.
Congratulations to all students who have enjoyed reading a
wide variety of books at home and improved their reading
levels. All home readers are now due to be returned to the
school. If they haven’t been returned by the end of next
week a reminder note will be sent home. Mrs Stevenson and I
would also like to say a very big THANK YOU to our amazing
volunteers who have given up so much of their time to keep
this valuable program going for our students. Without your
support this program would not have been possible. I would
also like to extend my thanks to Mrs Stevenson and Mrs Styan,
who have worked so hard to ensure that this program was a
huge success.
Numeracy at Home
Our Numeracy at Home program has also concluded for the
year. All Numeracy at Home kits are due back to classroom
by the end of next week. Please include a note in the pack if
there are any pieces missing. I would like to thank Mrs
Fernyhough for her work in creating all of our kits for each
Stage at our school.

Donation for Bethany
On Wednesday this week I received a very kind donation
from the Indigenous Services Committee at the Department
of Human Services in memory of Bethany Davis. The
donation of a range of native plants will be planted in our
Yarning Circle in Bethany’s honour. All of the plants donated
have a range of traditional uses as medicine, food or
materials. I would like to thank Jenny Kelly and her team for
this very kind donation. Mr Mandl and Mr Newham have
already planted the plants along the winding path into our
Yarning Circle.
Have a great week!

Dear Elermore Vale Public School Parent/Guardian, Camp Australia in conjunction with Elermore Vale Public School is currently conducting a survey to determine the level of interest in offering a Holiday Care Service, on the school campus, during the school holidays. We would like to encourage all parents to complete this brief survey to help us determine the viability of running this program. The survey will take approximately 3 minutes of your time.
