It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the

Dubai World Trade Centre for the Maintenance, Repair

& Overhaul (MRO) Middle East and Aircraft Interiors

Middle East (AIME) taking place from 22 - 23 February

2022.

In 2021, the Middle East region saw the successful roll

out of the vaccine, enhanced security measures and

touchless travel technology implemented by regional

airports and airlines in their efforts to rebuild consumer

confidence and sustain the recovery of the aviation

sector. The great resilience demonstrated by the

industry over the last two years gives us optimism and

hope for the future while our outlook for the aviation

sector in 2022 remains positive.

MRO Middle East & Aircraft Interiors Middle East have

developed a reputation as the region’s dedicated

platform for decision makers from airlines, MROs, OEMs,

lessors, suppliers, and aircraft interior specialists to

come together. During the two days, these co-located

events will highlight the latest innovations within

sustainability, digitalisation, and new technologies with

displays of latest products and services.

This year, I am pleased that the event will offer

additional networking opportunities to visitors and

comprehensive end-to-end MRO solution provider in the region. Prior to this position, Fahd served as CEO of Saudi Ground

Services (SGS). SGS is the driving force behind the efficient, safe, and courteous ground handling of passengers and aircraft

at 28 airports in Saudi Arabia, it is also part of the Saudi Arabian Airlines Group.

Fahd’s drive for innovation and his entrepreneurial traits led him to become a founding partner of Reaction, a global

venture capital company based in the U.S. that specializes in creating exponential change and promoting disruptive

innovation to solve global issues. Reaction aims to enhance the lives of one billion people in 10 years. Fahd also serves as

Vice Chairman of The Helicopter Company (a Public Investment Fund Company) and is the Vice Chairman of Gulf Flight Safety

Association, based in Dubai, UAE. Fahd is a board member in Saudi Amad for Airport Services and Transportation Support,

which specializes in unique transport solutions across Saudi Arabia.

In 2000, Fahd began his career as a Mechanical Engineer in Saudi Aramco’s refining and downstream business. He shifted

his focus within Saudi Aramco to the aerospace industry, becoming a jet aircraft pilot in 2004. Fahd was selected for the

highly competitive leadership track in Saudi Aramco, culminating in his appointment as the Director of the Saudi Aramco

Aviation Department. During his tenure Fahd transformed the department operationally and financially. It became a

recognized standard of excellence within the aerospace and oil and gas industries in terms of innovation, performance, and

quality. The value of Fahd’s leadership skills, insight and business acumen were recognized by Saudi Aramco executive

leadership with the appointment to several boards including, the Aramco Capital Company, the Aramco Associated Company,

and the Saudi Aramco Diversity and Inclusion board. Externally, Fahd accepted membership on the board of directors of the

International Aviation Technical College in Riyadh, and co-created and sponsored a ground handling diploma degree with

King Abdulaziz University—contributing to the aviation advancement and innovation in the education sector.

Fahd is an alumnus of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He holds an MBA from Hong Kong University of

Science and Technology, a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Western New England University, and
