Duties and responsibilities—Under the supervisionof the Chief of the Division, the incumbent will beresponsible for carrying out the* Division’s pro-gramme in the field of film and visual ‘aids and inparticular will: , ,

1. Organize direct assistance to Member Statesin the development of their film and visual aidsservices by means of expert missions,ptc.

2. Promote the training of film and visual aidspersonnel through the organization of national andregional training courses and seminars, throughfellowship programmes andbyassisting the develop-mentof training institutions. :

3. Under the guidance of the Chief Use of MassCommunication Techniques in Education, promotethe use of film and visual aids techniques for edu-cational purposes, particularly for adult education.

4. Supervise and prepare reports and studies onsubjects within this field of responsibility.

' The incumbent receives only gencral directivesand is responsible for the work of the Section.

Qualification and experience required.—(a) Uni-versity degree or equivalent. .

(6) Several years experience involving increasingresponsibility in film and/or visual aids services.Experience in organizational and training problems.Experience of the educational use of media an’advantage. . f°

(c) Fluent knowledge of English or French;working knowledge of the other. . Ability to writefor.publicationin English or French.

Salary and allowances.—Initial appointment willbe at P-4 grade with a gross salary equivalent toUS$ 11,400 which after deduction for the UNESCOStaff assessment corresponds to a net salary equi-valent to US$ 8,930 per annum payable mainly inFrench francs, plus allowances. This remunerationis normally exemptfrom all direct taxation. Incometax on such remuneration, if levied, is reimbursedim accordance with Staff Regulations and Rules.
