vehicle shall bo deemed to have comm itted a breach of this rule and the owuer of the animal,

animals or vehicle by which any such damage as aforesaid shall have been done shall pay tothe Township the amount of the damage; and the driver or person in charge shall be liable toa fine not exceeding Rs. 40 for each ofence or iI1 default im prisonment of either kintl not ex-ceeding one m onth.

X . 1. N o person shall perform ablutions or wash any clothes, cookiug uteusils or anyother article at any public hydrant or stand pipe.

2. N o persoa shall wash arly article of clothing in or on the banks of any river,pool, quarry, watercoucse or irrigation trench except at a place or placesauthorised by the Committee for the purpose.

3. N o person shall bathe in any river, pool, quarry, watercourse or irrigatiorl trenchwitllin the Townskip area except at a place or places authorisecl for tke purposeby tlae Comm ittee on a certificate of approval being previously received fromthe M edical Oficer of Hea1th.

4. A.. ny person guilty of an offence against the provisions of any sub-section of thisrule shall be iiable to a flne not exceeding Rs. 30 for each ofence or in defaultimprisonment of either kind not exceeding two weeks.

XI. Rules 1, 11, T11, 1V, V, VT, IX, X are cognizable by t'he Police, and. V11 and V11Xar0 Sllm lllons CaSeS.

X1I. Rules 157 and 175 of Township Rules 1904 shall from the publication of theserules cease to be applied to the Township of Nairobi.

XIII. These rtzles shall apply to the Township of Nairobi.
