• Grade Three: We have been very busy learning in Grade 3. We have completed place value in Math and will be moving on to 3-digit addition with regrouping. We are continuing map skills in Social Studies and learning about the different types of animals in Science. We have written our first letter to our pen pals and are anxiously awaiting a return letter.

• Grade Four: We have been working hard in grade 4. We have finished our first chapter in Religion and our first Reading story! They have all done great. We have been working with money in Math. Please have your child count your change whenever you can!

• Grade Five: Fifth grade has hit the ground running. We are working with decimals in Math, Astronomy in Science, personal narratives in Writing, dissecting the three branches of government, and a lot more in between. Summer reading will be returned to students soon, and we look forward to sharing more updates!

Classroom News

• Grade Eight: Our ice cream sale is off to a wonderful start! Attention 8th grade parents: Please make sure to send in one box of ice cream (popsicles, eclairs, Italian ice, ices, etc) with your child this week so we are certain to have plenty to sell at lunch. Thank you for your support.

• Health: 7th grade had their first Health class of the year. Letters to read with parents/guardians were sent home this week.

• Gym: Some classes had their first week of Gym. From this point on, please remember to wear your Gym uniform.

• Art: It is so wonderful seeing all the artistic talent the students in this school have to offer. Many of the classes have been trying to copy a master painting. Van Gogh, Monet and Hopper have been very popular. In the younger grades the students have been busy trying to understand the simple shapes used to draw a person. The 8th grade is busy designing their fundraising scarecrows. The school and parish will have an opportunity to purchase a scarecrow in the scarecrow auction! All funds raised will go to benefit the 8th grade class trip.

Other News… • If you have any old uniforms that no

longer fit your student, please donate them to our Used Uniform Closet.

• Open House September 28 @ 6 starting in the Church for prayer and introduction, 6:30-8:00pm in the school.

• Continue to send in Box Tops for Education! We benefit tremendously from this program!

Happy Fall!
