How Do I Get Planning 7?• The latest version of Planning 7 becomes
available when cloud customers upgraded to T&E 10
• If you’re not sure of upgrade timeline, please check with assigned Deltek Account Manager or Customer Success Manager
• Once upgrade is scheduled with Deltek, check your Cloud Portal homepage for specific dates and information
What Can Planning Do?• Organization Budgeting

Where Do I Start?
• Once you select the Planning module for the first time you will be prompted to complete the Post Install Steps
• First subtask is the initial import of Costpoint data
Configuration Settings
• After the data is imported you will be prompted to configure your settings
• First tab relates to Account Mapping (Based on your Costpoint account structure)
Display
• Financial Statement code relates to establishing the default P&L Format for Planning reporting
General
• Under the Last Completed Post Install Step, you can confirm the process is done with box being checked and 9 present
• If you need to update CER tables with Planning data then turn on feature above
Integration
• Subperiod Method field determines whether subperiods are combined or separated (Costpoint contains multiple subperiods per period)
• Vacation Types field identifies the valid accrued time off IDs used in Costpoint
Organization
• Under the Org Budget Revenue Calculation, selection made impacts org revenue differently
• Important to double check PTO/Holiday calculations above
Project
• Project Budget Period Method field determines which budgeting period is used
• Labor Escalation Month field sets the time marker to use when increasing employee pay
Maintain Account Mapping
• Except for Subcontractors/Consultants, accounts will be imported into the sheet selected
• Subcontractor/Consultant accounts or hours are mapped based on account function label in PAG (hours or cost)
Fiscal Year Setup
• Closing rate code has to be updated manually once you close the G/L
Manage User Groups (CP Admin)
• User access is handled like Costpoint (assigned to user groups)
• Good idea to review user groups and module/application rights with System Admin
User Maintenance (CP Admin)
• Important to review User Maintenance for active checkmark and Full License Type
• Only users with those items selected will be allowed access to Planning module
Maintain Org Approvers
• Users can’t access org budgets until this is completed
• Approvers are automatically budget creators
Maintain Project Budget Security
• This feature is optional and based on configuration in MAM10 (projects tab)
• Project security can be based on project or organization
Planning Refresh Process
• This task will transfer all data from Costpoint to Planning module
• If task is run during business hours could be slow and take hours
Refresh Process Alternative
• More efficient approach by using Job tool and create daily process
• Best time is non business hours and after daily transactions completed
Submit Job to Queue
• Options for time of execution, job recurrence, and email notification
Manage Job Queues
• Allows user to view scheduled tasks and make adjustments as needed
