DIRECTOR’S LETTER September 2, 2008 Dear CCI Members, Advisors, Colleagues, and Friends: In a difficult economic environment, corporate communication professionals continue to face the challenges of keeping pace with rapid change, of communicating and building reputation, of modeling the concepts of "truth" and "trust" as the common currency of a robust world civilization, and of meeting the rise of anti-Americanism and anti-globalism through the role of business in public diplomacy. Over the last 12 months CCI has changed as well. We moved to Baruch College, The City University of New York, and we are now CCI - Corporate Communication International at Baruch College. Tina Genest, Associate Director of CCI continues in her central role. Our research initiatives and programs continue as before. This Report of Activities should give you an overview of the depth and breadth of our programs and research initiatives. As always, you can access the CCI Website at www.corporatecomm.org anytime. Members of our Board of Advisors were correct in seeing that our new home at Baruch College, CUNY in New York City provides CCI with an enhanced platform to further the mission and objectives of CCI. CCI continues its successful partnership with the Weissman Center for International Business at Baruch College, CUNY for program offerings. We also are partners with Baruch's Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity on a major annual conference on corporate citizenship. The Center for Corporate Communication at Aarhus School of Business (Denmark) is an important research partner as well. And the MA Program in Corporate Communication at Baruch provides us with a strong research partner both from the faculty and the degree candidates. Moving our Leaders Forum for January 2009 to New York City offers an enhanced experience for professional development. And the CCI Conference on Corporate Communication held annually in June at Wroxton College in England attracted its largest audience to date. This year the conference was again held in association with Corporate Communications: An International Journal. Representatives were from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Egypt, England, Finland, Hong Kong, India, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Venezuela, United Arab Emirates, and the United States. CCI's network of professionals establishes strong collegial and international relationships. I look forward to your continued support and participation in CCI - Corporate Communication International. Sincerely, Michael B. Goodman, Ph.D. Director
