Care Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) is pleased to present the CIMS Research & Education Learning Centre

(CLC) programme for the year 2019.

It is the fifth year of CLC and it’s popularity is growing by leaps and bounds.

We are taking great care each year to add newer dimensions and newer topics to cater to a variety of disciplines.

We have been making a sincere effort to make each teaching session more interactive and to make it an interesting

learning experience.

CLC is born of a need….a dream to create a Learning Centre par excellence, setting the highest standards of medical

education.

CLC programme offers continuing medical education opportunities for a variety of faculty and medical care

providers including physicians, technologists, researchers and nurses, administrators, etc.

From last 4 years we have been trained 75 and above students under different paramedical courses.

Programme Overview:

Radiology & Imaging Technology produce clear and accurate images of the body that enable doctors to diagnose and

treat medical conditions that would otherwise be difficult to document. This programme develops the skills required to

perform diagnostic/interventional imaging procedures using ionizing radiation and diagnostic imaging equipment. They

also maintain imaging equipment and keep patient records. The exact activities of imaging technicians vary according to

the technology they use.

This course is designed to improve the technician's knowledge in various aspects of pulmonary function testing beyond

Programme Overview:

An Operating Theatre Technician provides technical services in the operating theatre and supports patients in the recovery room. He/she maintains responsibility for the transportation of patients to and from the theatre and wards and assist in proper patient positioning for various procedures. He/she prepares operation table, dressing trolley, anaesthesia equipment and surgical instruments like cautery machine, suction apparatus, defibrillator, operation theatre lights, head lights, drills, fluoroscopy and USG machine, etc. in a safe, clean and ready-to-use condition. Technicians assist with patient procedures as required and also help in preparation of various drugs and helps anaesthesiologist for induction, intubation and positioning. Technician has a pivotal role in smooth, safe and effective functioning of the operation theatre.

Operation Theater (OT) Technology

Programme Overview:

This course is designed to train the candidate in basics of ophthalmology including history-taking and clinical examination.

The candidate will be taught how to prescribe spectacle number and do refraction. They will be trained in operating various

ophthalmic equipments. At the end of the course, the candidate will be confident in working in ophthalmology.

Medical billing is one of the fastest growing healthcare jobs, so the course is designed for students who want to build

careers as hospital billing & insurance specialists. Medical billing specialists perform advanced clerical tasks and financial

processing. They will work closely with healthcare providers and insurance companies to request and process payments.

They will learn the process of entering patient information into databases, as well as become familiar with medical

terminology, pathology, anatomy, basic pharmacology, medical ethics and laws, and the financial practices of hospitals

and insurance companies. The course will ensure expertise in management of healthcare billing-processing, adjusting and

This course will provide the essential skills required to work in a Hospital Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD). Trainee

will learn in detail about the essential skills required to work in a hospital CSSD. Trainee shall be exposed to basics of

Programme Overview:

Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse's (Cath Lab Nurse) are an ultra specialized subset of cardiac care nurses who are

trained to work in the field of diagnosis of heart disease. They perform interventional procedures on patients aiding

interventional cardiologists in the catheterization laboratory. They are trained to perform cardiac catheterizations,

angioplasties, and valvuloplasties. They assist doctors in the implantation of pacemakers and Implantable Cardioverter

Defibrillators (ICDs). The course will also focus on providing care to patients in ICU, CCU or Cardiac Catheterization Lab;

executing needs assessment, organizing patients for medical procedures, monitoring patient's vital signs, operating

treatment equipment's, administering Intravenous therapy (IV) and various tasks to be performed in the Cath-lab. As this

field is continuously evolving, it is essential to keep updated on the latest technologies.

CIMS performs one of highest number of interventional procedures in Gujarat and houses 15 cardiologists who are

The programme aims to prepare competent Cardiac OT Nurses who can learn basics of cardiac procedures and assist

Cardiothoracic (CT) Operation Theatre (OT) Nurse Certificate Course

Programme Overview:

The course will train the participants to provide cardiac nursing care in ICU to the patients ranging from newborn with heart

defects to elderly patients with advanced heart disease. Under this programme, they will learn about different cardiac

diseases, their treatment and risk prevention. The participants will get hands-on clinical experience in diagnosis of acute

and chronic diseases, interpretation of lab tests and other cardiac tests. They will also learn to manage cardiac medications

Programme Overview:

We train nurses to care for infants who are in the first month of their lives and need hospitalization in neonatal nurseries

and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs). Neonatal nurses plays a critical role in caring for infants who have a variety of

conditions, including prematurity, birth defects, surgical problems, infection and cardiac malformations. Our programme

trains you in the technical and emotional skills to effectively support infants and their families during this challenging time.

These programmes emphasize on monitoring neonate in warmer, handling small premature babies, calculating and

administrating neonatal drugs, neonatal ventilation, bubble CPAP, hypothermia care, physiology, pharmacology,

embryologic, and pathophysiologic basis of neonatal acute and chronic disorders, neonatal jaundice identification and its

treatment.

Programme Overview:

This course aims to facilitate health and social care practitioner's nurses in the development and application of the

knowledge, attitudes and skills required to care for the hemato-oncology patient. They will be trained to understand

the patients' symptoms, disease status, treatment plan, psycho-socio-economic needs and apply evidence-based care

Electro Physiology techniques of Nerve and Muscle disorders involve nerve conduction and electromyography studies.

Apart from that various evoked potentials including VEP (Visual Evoked Potentials) and SEP (Sensory Evoked Potentials)
