What is a VirtualVehicle Environment?
The CarMaker Virtual Vehicle Environment (VVE) con-sists of computer models that realistically simulate thedynamics of a vehicle being driving on a road. Themodels include a virtual vehicle, virtual road, virtualdriver and virtual weather (e.g. wind, ice, rain).
The VVE models can be customized to simulate any landvehicle, road and driver by making changes to the inputparameters. In addition, modifications and additions tothe VVE can be made by the user so that virtually proto-typed vehicle components and software controllers canbe included in a complete vehicle environment.

IPG-CAR, IPG-TRUCK or IPG-MOTORCYCLE: includeslinear and non-linear suspension kinematics, axle,brake, engine and drivetrain models.
IPG-TRAILER: trailer and caravan model.
IPG-TIRE: accurate calculation of transient tire behaviorwith online modification of road adhesion.
IPG-DRIVER: sophisticated driver model which allowscomplex closed-loop driving, has the ability to learn,race at the vehicle limits and drive laps for best time.
IPG-ROAD: easily define a 3D course with road seg-ments or import real measured road data.
The CarMaker interface tools include:IPG-GUI (control center), IPG-MOVIE (3D animation),IPG-CONTROL (analysis), Instruments (cockpit display),ScriptControl (test automation)

User has option to use CarMaker with or without Sim-ulink. Both Simulink and stand-alone versions allowcontrol models to be easily added as SIL.
