1. Give me a cause to believe in. Your passion for what you do is contagious.

2. Tell me your story. Show me pictures

and videos so I feel like I am a part of

things.

3. Show me how my money is

making a difference.

4. Don't be afraid of Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn/Google+/

YouTube/Pinterest/Instagram

Let me find you across multiple platforms. Your presence and

engagement help me find you and follow you.

5. Make sure I’m on the correct mailing list that’s matched to my interest,

involvement and investment levels.

6. Offer me ways to share the cause, to get more involved by giving me quotes,

posts, stories, infographics and other interesting info to share with others and

build affinity.

7. Help me to feel like my contribution, no matter how small,

is significant.

8. Be approachable and authentic. Show me what you are up

to, how I can help the challenges you may be

facing.

9. Help me connect with your brand identity and message by staying

consistent but current.

10. Don’t forget to thank me because without me and others like me, you just couldn't get the job

done.

11. Help make giving easy.

12. Be open to crowd funding so we can all take part, even in the smallest way – every

dollar counts.

13. Keep offering me fun, creative, impacting and significant ways to contribute as wells as represent.

and sponsorship.

16. Keep me posted with data and information that

helps me know the organization is putting the money donated and the

investment I’m making to it, is going toward the

stated mission.

17. Ask me for my opinion and help me get involved other than money and

volunteering.

18. Don’t stalk me but don’t mass communicate with me either. Give me the option to get tests from you,

send me a handwritten note, and call me just to check in or say

thanks. Social shout outs won’t hurt either.

19. I know at times you need help for projects or events, keep the channels open and let me know how I can help.

20. Let’s get digital! Send me e-books,

email, a user friendly app, access to video

and blogs.

21. Relationships trump everything so keep building and nurturing our

relationships and you’ll ensure my loyalty to your organization and cause.
