Language Available: English Travel Validity: 31 Dec’18 Day 1: Arrival at Medan – Parapat – Samosir Island (Lunch/Dinner) Upon arrival at Kuala Namu International Airport, you will be greeted by our local tour guide. Firstly, pass through Parapat and stop at the Pemantang Siantar Paten shop for some local peanut products. As you continue your journey towards your first destination, you will also drive pass many neat rows of rubber and palm oil plantations. Upon arrival at Parapat, a ferry will take you across the beautiful lake to Samosir Island, the large volcanic island located in the heart of Lake Toba, the fifth largest lake in the world! Samosir Island is also known as a cultural centre of the Batak Tobanese. At night, you may socialize at the Tuk Tuk area over a few glasses of local beer (own expenses). Day 2: Samosir Island Discovery (Breakfast/Dinner) In the morning, you will visit Tomok Village for views of the unique Batak Traditional roofed houses, the ancient tomb of King Sidabutar and even an extensive range of local souvenirs at bargainable prices. Next, you will visit Ambarita Village. Whilst here, be awed by the local preservation efforts, in particular, the well-kept stone chairs, court house and even the execution place of King Siallagan! After the tour, you will stopover at Tuk Tuk Village, otherwise known as Westerner Street, to shop for some famous local souvenirs such as the Batak Ulos weaving shaul and have lunch as the popular Tuk Tuk pizzeria or local seafood barbeque. Alternatively, you may even wish to hire a motorcycle to explore the beautiful island on your own (own expense). Day 3: Samosir Island – Parapat – Simarjarunjung – Sipiso Piso Falls – Simalem Resort (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) This morning, you will board the ferry back to Parapat and depart for Simalem Resort. En-route, you will drop by Simarjarunjun and marvel over the magnificence of nature with a cup of warm ginger tea and pisang goreng (fried banana) (own expenses). Thereafter, you will proceed to Sipiso Piso Falls at Tongging-Karo Highlands to witness the powerful waterfall in action before heading back to Simalem Resort to spend the night. Day 4: Simalem Resort – Brastagi Highland – Medan (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) After breakfast, you will embark on a journey to view the two majestic volcanoes – Mount Sinabung and Mount Sibayak (subject to prevailing weather conditions). Subsequently, you will head for the local fruit market for a taste of the local tropical fruits such as marquisa (passionfruit), star fruits, papaya, avocadoes, pineapples, durians, bananas, and many more! From there, you will head back to Medan for a city tour. This includes visits to the Maimoon Palace Historic Building which was built in 1888. You will also bypass The Grand Mosque and Kesawan Street which houses remnants of the Dutch, English, Chinese and Malay architecture such as the Tjong Afie Mansion, Medan City Hall and General Post Office. This will continue to one of the city’s landmark – the Water Tower – which is used to supply water to the city of Medan. As night falls, drop by the town’s famous Durian House!

Day 5: Medan – Depart from Medan (Breakfast) After breakfast, you will visit the local traditional market. Here, you may find a wide array of fantastic

souvenirs and local interests at a price bargain, or even indulge in a famous traditional massage (own

expenses)! Alternatively, you may also do your last minute shopping at the largest mall in Medan. In the

afternoon, you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight back to Singapore.
