Subject Mission Statement A course designed to provide a specialist work-related qualification for the media sector. Learners will gain knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare them for employment. Course Outline A two year course 360 guided learning Hours

Four specialist units. Two of the units are internally assessed coursework, and the other two are externally assessed exams. One of the exams is an on-screen analytical assessment, and the other is a practical response to an industry-style brief. Students will study one coursework unit and one exam unit each year. The coursework unit completed in Year 12 leads into the coursework unit in year 13. Unit 1 - Media Representations (On-screen exam)

Unit 4 - Pre-Production Portfolio Unit 8 - Responding to a Commission (Practical exam assessment) Unit 14 - Digital Magazine Production Goes well with BTEC Media Studies will go well with a number of other courses particularly other BTEC qualifications.
