Quick Start Guide eToolkit
OverviewThe eToolkit is a unique collection of interactive virtual manipulatives and backgrounds used in Everyday Mathematics 4. It is intended for teacher-directed instruction on an interactive whiteboard as well as for teacher-led student interaction and student-independent exploration. If you do not have an interactive whiteboard, you can still project the eToolkit on a screen or wall with a computer connected to a projector.
Many Everyday Mathematics 4 activities ask students to model mathematical concepts using manipulatives at their desks. This eToolkit is not meant to replace real manipulatives; rather, it is intended to be used in conjunction with real manipulatives. The eToolkit is designed to help the teacher (and students) demonstrate concepts and/or solutions to a class or small group in an organized way.
The eToolkit can be used with grades K–6. Many eTools are modeled after the real manipulatives used in the classroom. The backgrounds are reproduced from the Teaching Aid Masters in the Math Masters book. The eToolkit is a perfect complement to any interactive whiteboard activity, including the Everyday Mathematics 4 ePresentations.
System RequirementsThe EM4 eToolkit is built with HTML5 and accessed through a web browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. It is best used on a device with a larger screen, such as a desktop or laptop computer, projector, or tablet. It is not designed for use on a smaller screen device, such as a smart phone.
VERSION 1 Updated: 01/15/18
