WOLVESEY CASTLE - Also known as the “Bishops Palace” Is a ruined Castle, located next to the Cathedral. The Castle was erected by the Bishop of Winchester Henry of Blois between 1130 and 1136 and has been an important residence of the wealthy and powerful Bishops of Winchester since Anglo Saxon times.
