I have receive training from many of the major oil compa- nies. Gulf, Amoco, Exxon, Citgo, Cato/Mysk, Century/Fuchs, 76, ConocoPhillips and Chevron to name a few. Filtraon training from Baldwin, and fuel addive training from several companies. Presenter:Mark DunnMcAnany Oil CompanyOlathe, KS I grew up in the lubricants industry. When I was born my dad was working for Sinclair delivering industrial lubricants, and even-tually owned his own fuel and lubricants distributorship. Since I started at such a young age, I developed a foundation for the dif-ferent lubricating oils and greases. When I began attending train-ing sessions provided by the oil companies, I was able to learn and understand the principles and fundamentals required to work with industrial lubricants. I was also fortunate to work with many field engineers that would assist us at the lubricant distributor level with lubricant application towards earning business.  I have receive training from many of the major oil compa-nies. Gulf, Amoco, Exxon, Citgo, Cato/Mystik, Century/Fuchs, 76, ConocoPhillips and Chevron to name a few. Filtration training from Baldwin, and fuel additive training from several companies. I have receive training on lab analysis and condition monitoring from ALS Laboratories and Century/Fuchs, anti-freeze training from Chevron, and DEF training from various sources. Again, my years of experience allows me to understand the principles and fundamentals being taught. As cleanliness codes become part of the equation, no problem. I can show the components and their cleanliness code recommendations. I can show you what the num-bers mean, how do you get there, and how do you stay there.  Today I am able to develop presentations for various lubricant needs and for maintaining fuel quality. Particularly for stand-by power generators. In 2014 I became an adjunct instructor at the Kansas City Metropolitan Community Colleges Business and Tech-nical Center. When needed, I provide training on Fundamentals of Industrial Lubricants.  When I work with maintenance teams today, I am able to sup-ply the products they need, and a solid understanding of its fea-tures for their use.

I hope everyone has had a relaxing summer or eventful summer dependent on what you all were seeking! Now that the school is back in swing and summer is coming to a close we are starting to line up events for the SPE KC chapter’s second half of the year. We will be doing the third Thursday of each month starting Oct, excluding Dec. For Dec. we may throw a Christmas event but this is still undecided. As mentioned previously, we have started the ground work to establishing a new website format. Several options are being looked at to achieve the functionality we are looking to bring. This is still in the works and hope to have everything resolved by the close of the calendar year. Keep a look out for updates on events and news on our Facebook page SPE-KC. We are currently looking to update our member’s roster contact info. If you believe your contact info is out of date please contact Jon Gilligan [email protected]. First comes thought; Then organization of that thought, into ideas and plans; Then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination.
