Directions to Show SiteFrom Interstate 80 in Dixon (east or west), take Hwy 113 South towards Dixon.The Fairgrounds are on Hwy 113 (also referred to as “First Street”) at the southend of Dixon.

Day-Of-Show ParkingNo Day-Of-Show Parking on Showgrounds*

Day of show parking is FREE in the south end of the fairgrounds (near the drive-in entrance) and/orin the lot across the street from the Fairgrounds on First Street. There will be a 15-MINUTEunloading area on the grounds. After unloading, all vehicles must then be moved and parked offthe show site by 7:30 AM.

* DAY OF SHOW (ON GROUNDS) PARKING PASSES WILL ONLY BE DISTRIBUTED TOEACH CLUB PRESIDENT, SHOW, TROPHY, RAFFLE, HOSPITALITY CHAIRS, CHIEF RINGSTEWARD, SHOW SECRETARY, AND THE EVENT COORDINATOR.

For those exhibitors reserving a grooming spot with electrical hookup, A RESERVED DAY OFSHOW GROOMING SPOT WITH ELECTRICAL HOOK-UP IS $20.00 PER DAY FOR ONEELECTRICAL HOOKUP. See ** below.

Overnight RV Parking will be available for $40.00 PER NIGHT Reserved, or $50.00 per nightUnreserved. Spaces will be assigned on a first come, first served basis and the terms andconditions written below adhered to. Written confirmation will be sent.

1. Fee as noted above. Additional $25 charge for returned checks.2. All vehicles must be COMPLETELY SELF-CONTAINED. No discharge of gray water or

sanitary tanks allowed except at designated Dump sites.3. All vehicles and pens must be confined to a 40' x 20' area. You may purchase an additional

area if needed and space is available.4. ALL PARKING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. Dixon May Fairgrounds and each of the show-

giving clubs assume no responsibility or liability for damages or loss to any vehicles, itscontents, or dogs.

5. Exhibitors are responsible for damages and CLEAN UP of their parking spaces.6. ALL RVs MUST HAVE WORKING FIRE EXTINGUISHERS.7. Unreserved Parking will be collected upon arrival and will be $50 per night - CASH ONLY.8. Overnight parking will be in designated areas only.9. Parking Gates open Thursday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Friday-Sat-Sun 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM

ONLY and after the completion of judging until 11:00 PM.10. Parking is a privilege extended by the Dixon May Fairgrounds and the show-giving clubs,

who reserve the right to withdraw this privilege from any person who feels they cannot abideby the rules and restrictions, or resorts to abusive language and/or unacceptable acts. Anysuch conduct will result in a bench committee hearing.

11. The Clubs take no responsibility for vehicle(s) towed in violation of parking laws orregulations and subject to actions of regulatory officers or agents. Vehicles illegally parkedwill be towed at the owner’s expense. The fire department has forbidden any vehicles in thefire lanes or any unauthorized areas.

Notice To Exhibitors1 Telegraph, telephone, unsigned, or incomplete entries cannot be accepted. Entries without fees

are not acceptable. Entry MUST be made on an official AKC entry form with the AGREEMENTprinted on the reverse side, or a photocopy of same. No entry shall be made and no entry shallbe accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance.

2 CHANGES, additions, or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close ofentries. Telephone changes are unacceptable. Changes may be faxed or emailed.

3 A Recording Fee of $.50 per dog and an Event Service Fee of $3.00 per entry will be required foreach dog entered in any Licensed or Member Club show, obedience trial, or tracking test. Thesefees are to be collected by the show-giving club and paid to the American Kennel Club. Each rallyentry fee includes $3.50AKC Recording Fee on first entry and $3.00 on each additional rally entry.The entry fee for 4-6 Puppy includes a $2.00 AKC Recording Fee.

4 PLEASE TYPEWRITE or NEATLY PRINT all entries. Use black or blue ink; DO NOT use pencilor colored ink to write entries.

5 OWNERS OR THEIR AGENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ERRORS on entry forms, for enteringthe same dog twice, or for entering a dog in a class in which the dog is ineligible to compete,regardless of who makes such errors.

6 ANY CHECK RETURNED FOR INSUFFICIENT FUNDS will be charged a $25.00 fee plus bankfees and must be paid in cash before the entry can be accepted. Subsequent returned checksfrom the same exhibitor or agent may result in being put on a cash-only basis.

7 ENTRY FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED in event of errors or cancellation of entries after thepublished closing date and time, nor in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excusedby the Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by the Show Committee. If, because ofriots, civil disturbances, fire, Act of God, strikes, extreme weather conditions (including but notlimited to extreme heat, floods, hurricanes, lightning, or earthquakes), or other acts beyond thecontrol of the management, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry feeswill be made.

8 CONFIRMATION OF ENTRY & SCHEDULE OF JUDGING TIME will be sent to the address onthe Official AKC entry form after the closing date. If an exhibitor has not received a copy of theSchedule within seven days of the show, the Show Secretary should be contacted.

9 PLEASE NOTE: Dogs which according to their owners' records have completed the requirementsfor a championship after the closing of entries for the show but whose championships areunconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to Best of Breed or Varietycompetition, provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary one half hourprior to the start of any regular conformation judging at the show. (American Kennel Club Rule,Chapter 11, Section 6)

10 DECLINATION OF ENTRIES: The Club may decline any entry for cause and may refuse toreceive, or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other causes, and no oneshall have any claim or recourse against the Club or any official thereof.

11 DOGS NEED TO BE AT THE SHOW only at scheduled time of judging and may leaveimmediately after unless required for further judging.

12 DOGS MUST BE READY FOR JUDGING. Owners or their agents alone are responsible for thepresence of their dogs in the judging ring. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class.

13 THE SHOW GIVING CLUBS, THE SHOW SECRETARY, their agents or employees assume noresponsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, spectators, or totheir dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to any child not under thecontrol of their parents or guardians. The welfare of the exhibitor’s child is assumed to be theresponsibility of the exhibitor. Please secure proper crates or means to confine dogs for thewelfare of all concerned.

14 NO PROVISIONS ARE MADE FOR UNENTERED DOGS AT THESE EVENTS. All dogs mustbe kept on leash except when being judged in the obedience or rally ring, or in an exercise pen.

15 ALL AWARDS WILL BE MADE in the judging ring to the person exhibiting the dog and thatperson shall be considered the owner or the agent. All claims for trophies must be made in thejudging ring before the completion of judging, and the Show Secretary should be advised at onceof any discrepancy. The show-giving club and its officials disclaim any liability for any awards notclaimed on the day of the show.

16 ALL TROPHIES MUST BE CLAIMED ON THE DAY OF THE SHOW -- none will be mailed.17 The Clubs will take every precaution for the safety of dogs exhibited, but it is understood that the

show-giving clubs will not be responsible for loss or injury.

BEST OF BREEDThe following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed or Variety competition: Dogs thatare Champions of Record, or Dogs which according to their owners' records have completed the requirementsfor a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of dogs whosechampionships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the day of the show where a dog completedthe requirements for a championship according to the owners' records. Winners of the Non-Regular Classes(Veteran, Hunting and Field Trial) may also compete in the Best of Breed Competition, provided that they areundefeated in any Regular Class at this show. No defeated dogs will be allowed to compete in Best of Breed.

OWNER-HANDLED BEST OF BREEDThis event qualifies for the AKC National Owner-Handled Series. Exhibitor MUST check the Owner-Handledcheckbox on the AKC Entry Form to be eligible. See information on Page 9.

NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIESStud Dogs Brood Bitches

Stud Dog Class - For Stud Dog and at least two (2) and no more than six (6) of his get. Stud Dogs must beentered in the Stud Dog Class and shown in the ring with their get. Get only to be judged, based on themerits of the get. Get MUST be entered in a Regular Class, Best of Breed or other Non-Regular Classat this show. Owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of the get. While the merits of theStud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, Stud Dogs must be examined todetermine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules,AKC policy or the Standard for the Breed.

Brood Bitch Class - Same as Stud Dog, except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and produce for get.

As the judge's decision in the Stud Dog and Brood Bitch classes will be based on the merits of more than onedog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged First in these classes will be eligible tocompete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes.

SPECIAL AWARDS

AWARD OF MERIT: At the judge’s discretion, Awards of Merit may be given after Best of Breed is chosen. One(1) Award of Merit for every 5 (or portion thereof) entries in Best of Breed Competition.

BEST PUPPY IN REGULAR CLASSES: To be selected from the Puppy Class winners (6-9, 9-12 mos) followingthe judging of Best of Breed Competition. If Best of Winners or Best of Breed is from a Puppy Class, it isautomatically awarded Best in Puppy Classes.

Puppy & Veteran SweepstakesOFFERED ALL THREE DAYS

PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES RULESELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes are open to all Irish Setters eligible for competition in the Regular AKCConformation classes whose age will be no less than 6 months and no greater than 18 months on thedate of judging.

FEE: $20.00 in addition to the regular entry fee. All entries in the Sweepstakes must also be entered ina Regular class in this show at the appropriate entry fee. Entries should be made at the same time onthe same entry form as the Regular classes. Indicate “Sweepstakes” with appropriate age and sex inthe space provided for “Additional Classes.” CLEARLY INDICATE WHICH SWEEPS CLASS IS BEINGENTERED. Sweepstakes will be judged prior to the Regular classes. Dogs entered in Sweepstakes maybe shown by anyone in good standing with the American Kennel Club.

VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES RULESELIGIBILITY: Veteran Sweepstakes is open to all Irish Setters who are at least 7 years old on the dayof the show. FEE: $20.00. Junior Showmanship ClassificationOFFERED SATURDAY & SUNDAY ONLY

Novice Class - For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the showand who, at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in aNovice Class at a licensed or member club show.

Open Class - For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show andwho, at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards with competition present, in a Novice Classat a licensed or member club show.

Master Class - For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the showand who, at the time entries close, have won ten (10) First Places, with competition present, in an Open Classat a licensed or member show. The calendar for this class will be November 1 - October 31 of the following year.All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entrywithout charge, the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that yearhas passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year.

BEST JUNIOR HANDLER - Selected from the winners of each Junior Showmanship class. Competition notrequired.

SUBSTITUTIONS - A dog may be substituted in Junior Showmanship. Such substitution must be accompaniedby an official AKC entry form. All such substitutions must be made ½ hour prior to the judging of the JuniorShowmanship classes at the show. All eligibility criteria above must be met. A Junior Handler is limited to onesubstitution per show.

A processing fee of $8.00 per entry will be retained. A signed veterinarian’s letter stating the bitch isin season must be provided as documentation with the request or within one week of the trial at the latest to receive a refund.

AKC National Owner-Handled SeriesOFFERED ALL THREE DAYS

Determining Eligibility:* Exhibitors must declare their dog AKC National Owner-Handled Series eligible at the time

of entry using the CHECK BOX on the entry form.* The handler must be an owner of record according to the AKC’s records as of the date of the

show.* Dogs declared eligible will be identified by an asterisk or other representative mark in the

steward’s book and in the show catalog.* Professional handlers, household members and current assistants to professional handlers may

not exhibit. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during thecluster/weekend.

* Dogs must be handled by an owner-handler eligible for AKC NOHS throughout the breed levelcompetition for the regular show. This includes the class competition and subsequent competitionin the breed ring. Additionally, dogs must be handled by an eligible owner-handler for all AKCNOHS competition.

* The Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the eligible dogs that competed in theBest of Breed/Variety competition for the regular show. This includes Winners Dog, WinnersBitch, and the undefeated winners of the non-regular classes. This excludes all dogs defeatedduring class and winners competition for the regular show.

Determining Owner-Handled Best of Breed* Breed judging for OH Best of Breed is conducted following Best of Breed judging in the ring. All

dogs in BOB competition (including WD & WB) will stay in the ring after the judge makes theirplacements. The ring steward will ask all professional handlers, household members, and currentassistants to a professional handler, and any exhibitor that did not indicate on their entry that theywere eligible for NOHS to leave the ring. The judge will then select the Owner-Handled Best ofBreed. A dog being “cut” or otherwise “defeated” in the BOB ring remains eligible to compete forOH Best of Breed.

4-6 Month Beginner Puppy CompetitionOFFERED ALL THREE DAYS

This competition is open to Irish Setter puppies at least 4 months and under 6 months on the day of theSpecialty. The competition is not divided by sex. The competition will be held before the lunch breakeach day. The judge will select Best 4-6 Puppy and Best of Opposite Sex from all puppies entered in thecompetition. The following requirements must be met:

The puppy is required to have an AKC registration number or an AKC litter number. A foreign-born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin.

All entrants are to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian’s protocol. Professional handlers are not permitted to exhibit in this class. Professional handlers are defined

as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributedrate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay.

Use the Official AKC Entry Form and specify “4-6 Month Puppy” in the space for Dog Show Class.Entry deadline is the same closing date as the specialties (Mar 13, 2019).

Pre-Ordered Specialty Show CatalogsCatalogs may be pre-ordered with a checkbox on the Official AKC Entry Form. Indicate the quantity tobe ordered and include $5.00 per catalog with your show entry fees. Only a few additional catalogs willbe available for purchase at the shows.

Versatility Certificate TestOFFERED ALL THREE DAYS

The Versatility Certificate test for Conformation will be offered in accordance with the Irish Setter Clubof America’s Versatility Certificate requirements. Dogs participating in this event need not be enteredin one of the conformation classes at these shows. Starting in 2002, ILP registered dogs may enterVersatility Tests. Dogs must be 6 months of age or older to enter. The entry fee is $8.00 per dogwhich may included with your dog’s specialty entry fees.

You may use the AKC Entry Form and clearly mark with the words “Versatility Certificate Test” in thebox for “Additional Classes”. Judging for Versatility will be at the conclusion of Best of Breed judgingthat day. A ribbon signifying PASS shall be awarded to those dogs who participate in and pass thesetests. This is not an official AKC event.

INSTRUCTIONS1. (Variety) If you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular variety

you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in, over 13 in. but notexceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white),Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby,Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard).

2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Recordand dogs which according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whosechampionships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.

3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then,in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division,color division, weight division.

4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed. If a registered doghas been acquired by a new owner, it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any show for which entries close after thedate acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recordedin his name. State on entry form whether transfer application has been mailed to A.K.C. (For complete rule refer to Chapter 11,Section 3).

5. Mixed Breed dogs entering classes for Agility, Obedience, and Rally trials should mark Breed as “All-American Dog/Mixed Breed.”Sire and Dam information shall remain blank for mixed breed entrants.

INSTRUCTIONS1. (Variety) If you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular variety

you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in, over 13 in. but notexceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white),Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby,Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard).

2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Recordand dogs which according to their owners records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whosechampionships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.

3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then,in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division,color division, weight division.

4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed. If a registered doghas been acquired by a new owner, it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any show for which entries close after thedate acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recordedin his name. State on entry form whether transfer application has been mailed to A.K.C. (For complete rule refer to Chapter 11,Section 3).

5. Mixed Breed dogs entering classes for Agility, Obedience, and Rally trials should mark Breed as “All-American Dog/Mixed Breed.”Sire and Dam information shall remain blank for mixed breed entrants.
