Telephone, FAX or email entries are not accepted. Class changes and cancellations must be received in writing prior to closing date, except as provided for in Chapter 14, Section 6 of the AKC Dog Show Rules.

I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary, and the owner and/or leaser of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event, and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owner’s records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e. age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event

closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. The Central Arizona Saluki Association offers for Best of Breed the “Camp Carma” Perpetual Trophy; a Bronze Saluki created by Gary Newton, on a trophy base, donated by Lynell and Rhonda Ackerman, Camp Carma Salukis. A plaque with the winner’s name will be placed on the trophy base. The trophy will remain in the possession of CASA but each winner will receive a complementary photo. On Saturday only.

BRED BY EXHIBITOR CLASS ELIGIBILTY

All dogs entered in the Bred By Exhibitor Class must be individually registered with the AKC. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog, and family members must both be a breeder and owner of record to exhibit in this class.

AWARD OF MERIT

Acknowledges that these animals were under consideration for Best of Breed or Best Opposite Sex to Breed. The judges are their recognition of an exceptional animal, whom on another day, would merit the top award. The judges, at their discretion, may award up to 3 Award of Merit rosettes.

SINGLE DOG NON-REGULAR CLASSES

Veteran Dogs, 7 yrs & over Veteran Bitches, 7 yrs. & over

Veteran Dogs & Bitches may be spayed or neutered at Specialty Shows.

COURSING: for salukis that are AKC registered and are confirmed AKC or

ASFA Field Champions, Coursing Champions or Coursers of Merit. Exhibitors must supply proof of title at time of entry. (A copy of the certificate awarding the title, or a copy of the entire page from either the AKC gazette or FAN magazine publishing the title, will be accepted as proof.) First place winners in this class are eligible for Best of Breed competition, providing all AKC eligibility requirements have been met, and providing dog is undefeated in any other class. Winners of the above class are eligible for Best of Breed competition.

MULTIPLE DOG NON-REGULAR CLASSES

STUD DOG CLASS: For Stud dogs and no more than two (2) of their Get. Get

must be entered in a regular class at this show. The award is based on the merit of the Get. The Stud Dog must appear in the ring with the Get and be entered in this show. Stud Dog may be neutered. The owner of the Stud Dog does not need to be the owner of the Get. Stud Dog and Get comprise one entry.

BROOD BITCH CLASS: For Brood Bitches and no more than two (2) of their

Produce. Produce must be entered in a regular class at this show. The award is based on the merit of the produce. The Brood Bitch must appear in the ring with the Produce and be entered in this show. Brood Bitch may be spayed. The owner of the Brood Bitch does not need to be the owner of the Produce. Brood Bitch and Produce comprise one entry.

BRACE CLASS: Shall be two (2) Salukis, regardless of sex, with at least ONE

owner the same. At least one of the brace must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed, or in a non-regular class other than brace. Those desiring to show in Brace class must write “BRACE” on the entry form in the space provided for “Additional Classes”. If more than one brace is entered by the same owner, the dogs comprising each brace must be designated as “Brace #1”, “Brace #2”, etc… Spayed or neutered dogs may be entered in this class.

EXTENDED GENERATION CLASS: Entry must be made up of a minimum

of 3 generations of Salukis with one descendant from each successive generation, i.e. Dogs A, B, C. A is the sire/dam of B. B is the sire/dam of C. Only two representatives from each generation are allowed. Judge’s decision is to be based on merit and likeness of Get/Produce. Off spring must be entered in a Regular Class, Non-Regular Class or Best of Breed competition. First place only will be awarded in this class. A separate entry form must be submitted for each dog entered.

Winners of the above classes are not eligible for Best of Breed competition.

PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES

Classes: Each age division is divided into dogs and bitches. 6 mos. & under 9 mos. 9 mos. & under 12 mos.

12 mos. and under 15 mos. 15 mos. and under 18 mos. 18 mos. and under 24 mos.

1. Entry fee is $12.00 2. The Puppy Sweepstakes judging will take place before regular judging. 3. Dogs MUST be entered in a regular class.

4. Entries of champions are accepted. 5. Professional Handlers may only handle puppies of which they are registered owner or co-owner. 6. PRIZES: All entry fees for Puppy Sweepstakes will be divided as follows: 35% to be retained by Central AZ Saluki Club & Saluki League of Southern AZ.

The remaining balance shall be divided: 1

st in class – 40% 2

nd in class – 30% 3

rd in class- 20% 4

th in class-10%

Any unclaimed money will be awarded to the “Best Puppy” winner.

Cash prizes will be paid in the ring to the person handling the dog which will be considered to be the rightful recipient of the award. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the sweepstakes judging is over. The show-giving club disclaims any liability for cash prizes after the judging is completed. The clubs will retain 35% of the total for expenses.

VETERAN SWEEPSTAKE

Novice Junior: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three first place awards with competition in the Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Junior: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close have won three first place awards with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice Intermediate: For boys and girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three first place awards with competition in the Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Intermediate: For boys and girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close have won three first place awards with competition present in the Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice Senior: For boys and girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close have not won three first place awards with competition in the Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Senior: For boys and girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close have won three first place awards with competition in the Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Master Class: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old on the day of the show, and who have won 10 first place wins in and Open class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be November 1-October 31 of the following year. All juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for the year has passed all participants return to the Open class for the following year.

BITCHES IN SEASON ARE NOT ELIGIBLE

ALL JUNIOR HANDLERS ARE REQURED TO HAVE AN AKC NUMBER PRIOR TO THE DAY OF THE EVENT. Numbers may be obtained from the American Kennel Club, call (919) 816-3776. Junior handlers must put their nine digit number on the entry blank. Be sure to include all information required on both the front and back of the official AKC entry form.

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS

1. A recording fee of .50 cents per dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00

per entry will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show. These fees are to be collected by the show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class at the show, the fees are to be collected on the first entry only. 2. Entries must reach show secretary, Jackie Lawrence, 2070 E. Melrose St., Gilbert, Az., 85297, Wednesday, January 30, 2013, 7:00 PM MST. Fees must

accompany entries. 3. The club and/or Show Secretary assume no responsibility for wrong or

incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or agent of the owner. 4. The club and/or the Show Secretary assume no responsibility for the owner or

owner’s agents entering a dog in a class which the dog is not eligible to compete, or for entering the same dog twice. No refunds of $5.00 or less will be made. 5. There is no refund of entry fee for duplicate entry. There will be a $4.00 fee charge for cancellation of entry prior to closing of entries. 6. Foreign exhibitors must submit entries with checks drawn on U.S. accounts or

with international money orders in U.S. funds. 7. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event the dog is absent, disqualified,

sick, lame, excused by veterinarian or judge, barred from competition by action of the Bench Show Committee. 8. Entry fees will NOT be refunded if it is impossible to open or complete the

show because of riots, civil disturbance, fires, an act of God, public emergency, acts of public enemy, or other acts or cause beyond the control of the club. 9. The Central Arizona Saluki Association and/or Saluki League of Southern

Arizona may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other cause, and no one shall have any claim against the Club or any official thereof. 10. Returned checks or post dated checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The

Show Secretary will add a collection fee of $35.00 to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks for the same exhibitor will result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. The returned check MUST BE MADE GOOD by cash or money order BEFORE the dog will be allowed in the ring. 11. Entries not on official AKC Entry forms and photocopies of entry forms

without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are not acceptable. No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies a condition to acceptance. 12. Owners are to have their dogs ready to go into the ring promptly, so judging

will not be delayed. Dogs need only to be present for their judging. Dogs not needed for further judging may be excused. Owners of dogs or the handlers of the dogs alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. This means it is not the responsibility of the ring steward, nor any agent of the show-giving club to locate any dog, its owner or handler. Waiting for dogs is a courtesy extended to owners and handlers. There is no American Kennel Club or club rule requiring a judge to wait for an owner or handler to Committee, or because the dog is ineligible to compete due to being entered incorrectly. 13. Owners must familiarize themselves with the agreement of the American

Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this premium list. Rule books may be obtained from A.K.C., 5580 Centerview Dr., Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27606.

14. The Central Arizona Saluki Association and/or Saluki League of Southern

Arizona, its Show Secretary or their employees will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any dog exhibited, whether the result of accident or other cause and in addition assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by an exhibitor or handler. It is distinctly understood that every dog at these shows is in the care and custody and control of his owner or handler during the entire time the dog is on the show premises. 15. The Central Arizona Saluki Association and/or Saluki League of Southern

Arizona does not agree to arbitrate claims set forth on official AKC entry form for this event. 16. Dogs which according to their owners’ records have completed the

requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for the show but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from the regular classes to the Best of Breed Competition, provided this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of the earliest judging at the Show. 19. There is no provision offered for unentered dogs at this show. 21. Trophies, prizes and cash will be awarded in the judging ring before the

completion of the classes and breed to the person showing the dog. The Show Secretary is to be advised at once, in the event of any discrepancy. The Show Secretary, The Central Arizona Saluki Association and/or Saluki League of Southern Arizona disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of the breed is over. All trophies must be claimed the day of show. None will be mailed. 22. Do not leave any dogs in closed vehicles. All persons attending this dog

show hereby waive any claim for damages against the club, its members or agents in the event a vehicle must be entered in order to rescue a dog from overheating or suffocation due to improper ventilation. 23. THIS IS A SELF CLEANING SHOW. PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG 24. The welfare of an exhibitor’s child is the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is

expressly understood that the exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children at all times. 25. No practicing allowed in rings at any time. 26. Due to confined spaces, flexi-leads are not allowed. 27. Violation of rules and regulations or inappropriate behavior toward Windmere

Hotel employees, security staff, show committee, show officials or fellow exhibitors may subject and participant in the event to disciplinary action by the show committee.
