Handling Skills

• What handling skills are required• Place the bird in an exhibition coop.• Enter the bird head first into the coop• Remove the bird head first from an exhibition coop.• 4-Her should be able to demonstrate the different parts

of the bird.• Adjust the wings and pose the bird to it’s best

advantage.

Questions to Expect

• What Breed is your bird.– What class does it belong in i.e. American, English

etc.– Is it a Bantam or Large Fowl

• Sex• Variety• Know the difference from a defect & a disqualification

• Know the different parts of your bird.• Name an external parasite

• If the judge ask if you have any questions tell them yes, if not Thank Them for their time.

• Have the judge show you or tell you about a concern.

• When the judge is finished asking questions put the bird back in the cage and make the bird show.
