Page 3 WELCOME to April’s edition of The Local Journal. As we emerge from winter, all of us here would like to congratulate the Team GB Olympians and Paralympians on a stunning display at the Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Sochi. We celebrated the achievements of athletes at London 2014 and the efforts of the team in Russia this winter have been no less impressive. Although not quite on the same level, this month’s edition reflects on the physical endeavours of our readers in and around the beautiful Rossendale Valley area as they prepare for… THE BIG SPRING CLEAN! It may not be spoken of in the same breath as the London Marathon (good luck, Mo Farah!), but it can often last for many hours more. The Local Journal reflects on the kind of things that readers may want to incorporate as part of this month’s purge – both inside and out! Naturally, we will also be featuring the many outstanding businesses in the area who are ready to ‘spring’ into action to help you with your everyday needs. We will also be including features on local people and local matters, so settle down and enjoy the latest edition. In March, Classic Collection Cars advertised in The Local Journal and added a classic number of calls to its usual monthly tally. Thanks to its faith in The Local Journal, the business is really motoring. Finally this month, another massive THANK YOU to our amazing advertisers and readers! We hope you enjoy reading our magazine as much as we love putting it together! Don’t think about it, seize the opportunity and advertise with us today and enjoy the benefits.
