Editorial The Journal Celebrates an Anniversary This year we are marking the 25th anniversary of Environmental and Molecular Mutagenesis. You already may have noticed the silver on the Journal’s cover. In order to celebrate this occasion, several projects are under way that should make this an outstanding year. First, Guest Editor Martina Veigl is assembling a collection of papers based on presentations made at the “Impact of the Environment on Colon Cancer” conference held in conjunction with the 2003 EMS meeting. Most of these papers will appear in an upcoming issue; however, the paper by Peters and colleagues in the present issue contains data presented at the conference and serves as a preview. Later in the year, we will start a second series of invited papers that will continue into the first part of 2005. Suzanne Morris is serving as the Guest Editor for this anniversary collection by leading scientists in environmental mutagenesis that will reflect on where we have been in the last 25 years and provide insight into where our science is heading. This year the Journal also is scheduled to begin on-line submission and review of manuscripts. Check out our web site at www3.interscience.wiley.com/cgi-bin/jhome/10009058 for the posting of these tools, and please take advantage of them. Finally, I would like to thank a few of the people who have contributed to the success of the Journal. These include Peggy Olive and Walter Koch, who are stepping down from the Journal’s Editorial Board. In addition, Carolyn Phifer is retiring after 29 years as our Division secretary and will no longer be addressing envelopes and issuing reminders about late reviews. The efforts of Carolyn, Peggy, and Walter are sincerely appreciated. And last, but not least, I would like to thank the following individuals who volunteered their time to review papers for the Journal from November 2002 through October 2003: S.Z. Abdel-Rahman G. Akerman J. Allen M.M. Ammenheuser J. Ashby W.W. Au W.M. Baird S.C. Basak S. Basco K. Bialkowski C.A. Bigger J.B. Bishop D.A. Casciano T.A. Cebula G.J. Chen T. Chen E. Chin B. Coles M. Costa S.
