What happens to the flowers after the
Sunday services?
The flowers are removed from the Nave by the Flower
Ambassadors, divided into small arrangements and
delivered to members of our parish who are in a time of
need, celebrating a birth, and those who cannot attend
worship regularly. In other words, the gift of sponsoring
Altar Flowers joyfully touches individuals, members of
our parish, and the community.
What is the cost?
The donation for sponsoring the altar flowers for a
specific Sunday is at a minimum of $75.00 per family/
individual. NOTE: More than one family can sign up
for each Sunday. You may sponsor more than one
Sunday. These honorariums, remembrances, and
thanksgivings are acknowledged in the Sunday bulletin.
Our expectation is that we will have your payment in
hand by Monday before your Sunday dedication. All
donations are tax-deductible.
Why should you sponsor Altar Flowers?
Sponsoring the Altar Flowers is a beautiful way to honor
loved ones. Flowers are often given to mark special life
events such as birth and birthdays; anniversary of a
wedding, baptism, confirmation; or memory of a loved
one; or a thanksgiving for life’s blessings.
What role does the St. David’s Flower
Guild play?
The Flower Guild selects, purchases, and arranges the
altar flowers. As part of the Flower Guild ministry, its
members pray for the individuals for which the flowers
are given as well as the sponsoring individuals or
families. Our expectation is that we will have your
payment in hand by Monday before your Sunday
dedication. All donations are tax-deductible.

SPONSORING ALTAR FLOWERS
...to honor loved ones
The Mission of Saint
David’s Episcopal Church is to restore all people to
unity with God and
each other in Christ. (BCP pg. 855)
St. David’s Flower Guild is responsible for
all of the beautiful flower arrangements in
the church. Funds for these come solely
from donations made as memorials for
loved ones or in celebration of special
occasions. Even during Lent, when no
flowers are used, you may now make your
dedications and donations for one of the
Sundays. On “Flower Sunday,” the first
Sunday after Easter, all of these dedications
will be published in the bulletin.
What about Christmas and
Easter Flowers?
The flowers and greenery for Christmas and Easter and
other special services are made possible by generous
donations from parishioners. The Flower Guild budget
for Christmas and Easter decorations is based solely on
donations, with a minimum of $50.00. Approximately
six weeks prior to each of these great feasts, donation
forms are printed in The Illumination to be
completed along with your check, and placed in the
Flower Guild box on the bottom row of the mailboxes
or mailed to the church office. NOTE: Donations can
be made at any time during the year, either in the Altar
Flower Notebook, or on the website: “Giving,” then
“Easter Flowers,” or “Christmas Flowers”. Fill out the
online form and click “Submit”. Print out the
completed form and place with your check in the
Flower Guild mailbox. All donations are tax-
deductible.
