The Fayetteville Flight, Fayetteville’s newly professional team has started their year off running, by involving themselves in many community and school activities. The Flight players and staff members have been really busy with events like the 2011 MS Walk, 2011 Reading Rocks, Ribbon Walk/Ride, Lupus Walk, Eastover Youth Basketball Clinic, as well as promoting their “Bully Free” campaign to the Cumberland County Schools throughout our city. The Flight’s “Bully Free” program invites youth in our school systems to stay “Bully Free” Throughout their school year for free Flight tickets to home games and

visits from their favorite players. .

It was the vision of Fayetteville native Michael Dixon, a former army soldier and veteran to open doors

To the basketball talent that sometimes goes overlooked and to offer this city a family fun entertainment at an

economical cost. The Seventy First graduated not only promotes basketball talent, he teaches the prospects the

importance of being involved in your community and giving back to their city.

“This is a stepping stone for most players who find themselves waiting to get to the next level; whether it be overseas or

the NBA!!”, say Dixon. “We have talent from top Colleges all the way to players that split time between their jobs and

basketball!!” All in all this is going to be a great season that the city of Fayetteville will enjoy!!

EASTOVER YOUTH BBALL CAMP The Fayetteville Flight players had a

busy day today as they helped out with

the Eastover Youth Basketball camp

once again making it their second year

at the event.

The Flight players shared their skills to

youths in and around the community

and offered free tickets to all clinic

goers.

Harold Farris Jr., and Coach Harold

Farris.

The Flight has always been an

organization that takes time to give

back to their community knowing that

they have made an impact on the

youngsters who attend their events.

The Flight continue to support their

communities and have a full schedule

ahead of them along with playing in the

ABA!!

Who are the Fayetteville Flight? The Fayetteville Flight are in their second year as a member of the American Basketball Association (ABA). The ABA is the largest professional sports league in the United States. As a professional team the Flight will be competing in the Mid Atlantic Division along with the Cougars, Cheetahs, Madhatters, Trojans, Elite, Warriors and the Jaguars. There are over 90 ABA teams in the league which spread from coast to coast. The ABA regular season runs from November to March with a 30 game schedule.
