rapidly evolving, fueled, in part, by the exponential

growth of its art and cultural offerings. A third quar-

ter 2013 report by Christie’s International Real Estate

titled “Atlantic Insights” named Miami alongside New

York and London as three of the world’s most vibrant

and sought after cities for affluent buyers.

Findings from the research concluded that many buy-

ers in the market are global citizens who choose to

both invest in – and live in – a purchased property,

exemplified through the fast pace of sales over the last

48 months.

And while foreign buyers had a significant presence in

all three luxury markets in 2013, domestic buyer activ-

ity was equally strong.

Comparative analysis between square foot prices re-

vealed Miami’s averages to be noticeably lower than

London and New York, signifying the considerable val-

ues to be found in our area.

Ultimately, the report surmised that South Florida, as

well as New York and London, are on course for con-

tinued growth, singling out their desirable qualities,

economic stability and lifestyle services.

SUCCESS BY THE NUMBERS

Sales for the first two and a half months of 2014 have increased sig-

nificantly and EWM Realty International has been at the forefront of the

vibrant activity. The sales of two major Miami Beach residences alone

totalled $34 million, setting the direction for a robust first quarter.

2014, 2013 proved to be a watershed year for million-dollar plus proper-

According to data from the Southeast Florida Regional Multiple Listing

Service (MLS), EWM had a total of 478 single-family home and condo

sales in excess of $1 million for the period of January 1 – December 31,

2013, reflecting $993 million in total sales.

The sale of million-dollar-plus homes and condos grew by 27% in 2013

vs. 2012. The ongoing impact of the international buyer, evolving mar-

kets such as China, and a sharp increase in the number of buyers from

the northeast, continued to further South Florida’s appeal as a truly

global market.

Christie’s expanded its reach on the evening of December 19th,

2013, with its history-making first Mumbai, India, art auction. The

sale realized $15.5 million, more than doubling expectations, and

resulted in the breaking of records for Indian artists.

The auction attracted new Christie’s buyers from India, Asia, the

U.S. and Europe. Christie’s attributes the success of the auction,

rapidly evolving, fueled, in part, by the exponential

growth of its art and cultural offerings. A third quar-

ter 2013 report by Christie’s International Real Estate

titled “Atlantic Insights” named Miami alongside New

York and London as three of the world’s most vibrant

and sought after cities for affluent buyers.

Findings from the research concluded that many buy-

ers in the market are global citizens who choose to

both invest in – and live in – a purchased property,

exemplified through the fast pace of sales over the last

48 months.

And while foreign buyers had a significant presence in

all three luxury markets in 2013, domestic buyer activ-

ity was equally strong.

Comparative analysis between square foot prices re-

vealed Miami’s averages to be noticeably lower than

London and New York, signifying the considerable val-

ues to be found in our area.

Ultimately, the report surmised that South Florida, as

well as New York and London, are on course for con-

tinued growth, singling out their desirable qualities,

economic stability and lifestyle services.

Sales for the first two and a half months of 2014 have increased sig-

nificantly and EWM Realty International has been at the forefront of the

vibrant activity. The sales of two major Miami Beach residences alone

totalled $34 million, setting the direction for a robust first quarter.

And as a precursor to the momentum already being experienced in

2014, 2013 proved to be a watershed year for million-dollar plus proper-

ties in South Florida.

According to data from the Southeast Florida Regional Multiple Listing

Service (MLS), EWM had a total of 478 single-family home and condo

sales in excess of $1 million for the period of January 1 – December 31,

2013, reflecting $993 million in total sales.

The sale of million-dollar-plus homes and condos grew by 27% in 2013

vs. 2012. The ongoing impact of the international buyer, evolving mar-

kets such as China, and a sharp increase in the number of buyers from

the northeast, continued to further South Florida’s appeal as a truly

global market.
