When asked what was the secret of China’s success, he replied: “They were living the American dream. They had a mission and they were dedicated to pursue it. In The Interim A New Day for an Old Way

If you were in the service led by the men a couple of weeks ago, you will understand the point I am trying to make. The men were challenged to affirm their commitment to their Lord and to his church. The moving of the Spirit was thrilling and the response of the men and women was heartening to those of us who love Knightdale Baptist Church and are praying for her resurgence. I look forward to this coming Sunday when the women will lead. We are in the final phase of our interim task. The T-Team is working on a profile of the church which can be shared with the potential candidates for our Pastor position; the Deacons are working on a Mission Statement which will become our North Star as we move forward in our pursuit of the vision God has for us. The Diaconate is clarifying our organizational structure to help us work better together. The Teams are praying for the vision which will project our goals for growth and ministry at least two years into the future. Hear my call for every member of this congregation to be in prayer for God to send an infilling of His Spirit to empower a NEW DAY FOR AN OLD WAY for Knightdale Baptist Church. The following struck a deep cord with me. I was watching Katie Couric interview a man from China who was a billionaire. He had brought the internet to China several years ago. They were discussing the remarkable advances of China in recent years and noted that if China continues on their current track, the nation will overhaul the U.S. and the leading nation in the world in ten years. Katie Couric asked him what he thought the reason of their success was. He responded three things: One, the people are excited for their country and love it. Two, the Nation has set goals. Three, the people know what those goals are. She asked about China’s censoring of his internet. He replies: “I’m not that concerned about politics. I just do what I can to bring the internet to China, and they have it.” Then he blew the interviewer and audience away. When asked what was the secret of China’s success, he replied: “They were living the American dream.

They had a mission and they were dedicated to pursue it. It was not about being No. 1; it was about Mission.” Then he asked, “What is the mission of America? We are asking now, “What is the Mission of Knightdale Baptist Church?”
