TAICHI MOTOR MANUAL Thank you for purchasing the 3Racing Taichi Brushless Motor a high quality motor designed fully in house to withstand high power Lipo batteries. Each motor is manufactured to the highest standard of quality to ensure you get the most enjoyment and desired result from running this product. Please read follow this guide carefully in order to obtain maximum performance and durability from this product. Limited Warranty Policy 3Racing (own by World Space CAD Industrial Co.) guarantees this product is manufactured under the highest quality standards and are free from any defects in materials used and as a result of our manufacturing process for 30 days (non-European Countries) from the original date of purchase. Due to the nature of this product 3Racing can only limit warranty to all defects caused as a result of the manufacturing process and does not cover defects as a result of incorrect installation and the wear and tear incurred during the normal operation of this product. It is recommended the procedures in the Disassembly and Maintenance section be followed carefully to prolong the life of this product. Due to constant research and development all instructions, procedures and specifications may change without prior notice and should be used for reference purposes only. Product Disposal Disassembly and Maintenance The Taichi Brushless Motor was designed without the need for regular maintenance, however it is recommended that the following procedures be performed after each race day and before installation to your car. 1. Check condition of bearings and apply a moderate amount of high quality bearing oil to bearings. 2. Make sure all screws on motor can and sensor units are tight to avoid any parts disassembling during running of motor. 3. Should you need to partially or fully disassemble the motor for bearing lubrication, parts inspection or a regular rebuild, please refer to the exploded diagram. To disassemble motor, loosen and remove the three outer screws on the top end plate of the motor using a 1.5mm hex wrench. You may then gently remove the top and bottom end plates allowing access to the rotor, to adjust motor timing simply loosen the 2 inner screws on the timing ring plate about 1 turn out and adjust the timing ring to the desired timing position and make sure you retighten the screws afterwards. Always install wires as illustrated in the diagram, use high quality insulated wires and solder with high silver content. To prevent damaging the motor and ESC PCBs, use a temperature regulated soldering iron and avoid prolong contact of no more than 5 seconds.

The hall effect sensor is compliant with all major race sanctioning bodies (refer to Motor Specifications Table) and is compatible with all sensored ESC that follows the same standards. Be sure to periodically check your sensor wire as a loose or damaged sensor wire may impair the performance of your motor.

For sensored ESCs, always connect the sensor wire before turning ESC on as motor may become damaged, our warranty policy do not cover motors damaged due to the absence or incorrect installation of the sensor wire even if ESC manufacturer suggests you may do so.

There's no need to regularly fully disassemble your motor for maintenance as the Taichi Motor was designed with minimal need for maintenance. Should you need to partially or fully disassemble the motor for bearing lubrication, parts inspection or a regular rebuild, please refer to the exploded diagram.

To disassemble motor, loosen and remove the three outer screws on the top end plate of the motor using a 1.5mm hex wrench. You may then gently remove the top and bottom end plates allowing access to the rotor, to adjust motor timing simply loosen the 2 inner screws on the timing ring plate about 1 turn out and adjust the timing ring to the desired timing position and make sure you retighten the screws afterwards.

Bearing Maintenance - be sure to periodically check and lubricate bearings as it is the only component which requires regular maintenance.
