Overview

The future in brands is not in product. The future of brands is lifestyle.

Music, tech and entertainment are exponentially evolving on a global scale. At this accelerating rate of change, how do we keep up with the evolution of media and put our music earnings on the same graph of accelerating returns?

In this panel, we will discuss the impact of media shifts on music in film, TV and interactive media and how we fill the void of the unknown and move forward in a new digital age. In a time when an energy drink company can create lifestyle programming and an Internet retailer can win an Emmy, where is this all heading, and how will music continue to play a role in media?

Breaking the Ice

Tell us about you:- What’s your background?- What projects are you working on now?- In a few words, how would you identify yourself and your company’s brand within the music community?

Digitally Savvy• Let’s talk about linear vs. VOD, digital and subscription services. What’s the

difference, and how has this impacted the TV shows, films and ads you are working on?

• How is music in media changing in a digital age?

• How has the shift into streaming and digital affected your musical choices for networks and production/film companies you’re delivering to?

• Do you see linear television going away, and if so, how will we monetize music in a digital era? How will writers and publishers continue to receive royalties?

• Do you see a parallel between this move into digital/streaming and when cable changed the network television market?

Cut to the Chase

• Is it harder for an artist to cut through in a market where we are constantly bombarded with ads, new social platforms, and an uninterrupted stream of new music?

• Stylistically, where do you see the music market heading? Will we see 10 more Justin Biebers, or is that era over?

• Is it harder for brands and media to cut through in the same market? How are they evolving their traditional models to maximize their reach to younger audiences?

Additional Questions• How do brands affect the music and sync marketplace today? Similarly,

how has social media impacted the music and sync world?

• Do you see networks eventually fading away and direct brand to consumer platforms like Verizon’s Go90 app starting to taking over?

• How has the shift to digital impacted the film industry?

• What do you see as the future of the music business? How will artists and rightsholders make money- will it be through streaming, sync, touring, record deals, merch, sponsorship deals?

• Is there a correction happening right now in the market? Has the bubble in media burst?
