Need-based tuition assistance applications are available online at www.speds.org.Tuition and fees for the 2016-17 school year will be determined by the Board of Trustees in January of 2016.

Extended Day Program

The philosophy of St. Paul’s Extended Day Program is to provide affordable and accessible programs for students in a safe and supervised environment outside of school hours. Programs seek to complement both the home and the school by offering a base of warmth and security provided by caring adults. St. Paul’s faculty members, area professionals and college students staff our programs. Extended Day is available from 3:30–6 p.m. each school day.

AFTER SCHOOL CLASSESDuring the school year, After School Classes are offered each semester. These popular offerings include classes in art, music, theatre, chess, yoga, fitness and more. Classes are open to all St. Paul’s students, regardless of whether they are registered in After School. Classes are generally held between 3:45 p.m. - 5 p.m. and are taught by faculty members or community professionals.

EARLY ROOMEarly Room care is provided for students arriving prior to 8 a.m. Toddler - Kindergarten meet in the Early Childhood Commons. At 8 a.m., Early Childhood students are escorted to their classrooms by a teacher. Students in 1st through 8th grade meet in the south Multi-Purpose Room (2nd Floor) and enjoy playing board games, finishing homework, reading, and visiting with friends. Early Room starts at 7:15 a.m.

MUSIC LESSONSMusic lessons in voice, piano, guitar and other instruments are taught each afternoon. Lessons are one half hour in length and are held on the St. Paul’s campus between 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Scheduling is done through the Extended Day Office on an individual basis for the convenience of the teacher and student.

VACATION DAY PROGRAMSVacation Day programs take place on “Early Dismissal” and “No School” days. Vacation Days are open from 7:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. on No School Days and noon to 6 p.m. on Early Dismissal Days. Indoor and outdoor activities and special projects are planned for each Vacation Day. These days are fun-filled days with a wide variety of activities including arts and crafts, music, and group and individual games. Pre-registration is required for all students on these days; Online registration opens approximately two weeks prior to each Vacation Day. A minimum number of students must be registered for each Vacation Day by the registration deadline in order for St. Paul’s to offer this service. The school administration reserves the right to cancel these days if pre-registration is insufficient.

Afternoon Programs for Early ChildhoodAll children in toddler, preschool and prekindergarten will be enrolled in a half-day program (8:25 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.). Lunch Bunch & A-Team are extensions of the morning program. Half-day toddlers may participate in Lunch Bunch.

Admissions Policy

St. Paul’s Episcopal Day School seeks motivated students of strong personal character who demonstrate academic promise. Although admissions decisions are not based upon the date applications are received by the school, applications received within the regular enrollment cycle (September – January) are given priority.

Criteria for admission varies with the age of the applicant. Criteria may include observations by teachers, grades, test scores, writing samples, teacher recommendations, assessments based on interviews and classroom visits, the composition of the current class and gender balance.

Prospective students interested in applying for admission to St. Paul’s should contact the Director of Admissions at [email protected] or 816.268.6542. All prospective students must complete the admissions process following general admissions procedures.

The Admissions Committee carefully reviews complete application files. Notification of final determination is sent by March for applications processed during the regular admissions cycle.
