INTERSCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY
On Wednesday 24/6/15 our Interschool Cross Country team competed at Adam Road Primary School. The students who attended had excellent behaviour and put a fantastic effort into their races. Our School is in the Jarrah Division and at the time of publication we don’t have the overall results, however we will publish them on the web when we do have them. I thought our students’ commitment to try their very best was at the forefront of their endeavours. Thank you to Mrs Hutton for doing an awesome job helping out our squad train in readiness for the
big day. See Mrs Hutton’s wrap up overleaf.
YEAR 6/7 CAMP
I had the privilege of attending our year 6 camp last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in Perth at the Pt. Walter Camp School. I was very impressed with the manner in which our students conduct themselves and participate, especially the very inclusive way they work with their peers from the ESC. I congratulate the teachers who give up their family-time to attend, so that our kids can have the great experiences that they have – Ms Goodman, Mr Allen, Mr Greaves, Mrs Stokes and the staff from the ESC deserve thanks for their efforts for the time spent organizing buses, food, places to visit and activities. When I see students accepting the challenges and thriving on the responsibilities given I am continually reassured that the future is in capable hands. STUDENTS’ REPORTS Student reports will be available for parents to pick up from their child’s teacher from Tuesday 30th June, in the last week this term. Any report not picked up by a parent/carer will be sent home with the respective student on Friday, 3rd July, the last day of term 2. Our school, like all schools around Australia, has begun reporting on the achievement of students measured against the Australian Curriculum. Over the next few years all learning
areas will have reporting standards like History and Science to complement our work in the areas of English and Maths. Our teachers have begun to use student work samples from the Australian Curriculum to determine your child’s achievement. This is done to help form a consistent measure of achievement for all students, right across Australia. TERM 3 START
Both students and staff begin school for term 3 on Monday 20th July. Most terms begin with a School Development Day ( SDD ) for staff, where students do not attend. However, due to the school electing to move their term 3 SDD to term 1 to better access Professional Learning for staff, all students will now be
due to start lessons on that Monday with staff.
If your child is 4 or 5 years old by 30 June 2016, starting Year 7 or changing schools, you need to apply to enrol them in a public school for 2016. All children from Pre-primary to Year 12 are

EDUCATION SUPPORT CENTRE
Dear Parents and community members,
Our School Council met this week. The main topic of conver-sation was looking toward the future and developing a campus plan. A working party has been formed to progress
this idea. Thankyou to all who attended the meeting.
On Tuesday a number of our parents got together at Milligan house for an informative catch up. It was very pleasing to see a good number of parents attend . Thankyou to Mrs Yardley for providing biscuits and thanks to our wonderful
teacher, Mrs Rynasewycz for organizing this event.
Today a list of your child’s details will come home from school. If there are any changes ie: phone numbers, change of address, emergency contact changes, medication chang-es, please return the forms with the correct details on them asap. Some students have not provided a copy of the birth certificate and immunisation details. This is an education dept
requirement.
Thank you to all of the parents who have paid their School
Voluntary Contributions.
If you have not paid contributions so far, we ask if you could
pay these before the end of Term 2.
School reports will be sent home with your child on Tuesday
and Wednesday of next week.
We welcome back to our school Cailey Northover, who has fitted back nicely into Room 3.
The Year 6’s had a wonderful time in Perth last week. Our students were great ambassadors for our school and are to be commended on their excellent conduct. Thankyou to Mrs Moore, Miss Gilbert and Mr Cullum and our primary school staff for making this camp such a memorable time for our
students.

STATEMENT OF ETHOS AND PUR-

To create a safe, supportive and
friendly school environment that ena-
bles our students to develop the
skills, attitudes and values they need
to become happy, healthy, independ-
ent members of society.
A big congratulations to the Interschool Cross Country Team who attended Adam Road PS on Wednesday 24th June. All students should be proud of their efforts leading up to and on the day of the race as well as their great sportsmanship. Kate from Year 4 finished 2nd overall and Hayden in Year 5 finished 8th. South Bunbury PS also had several students who finished in the top 20. There were approximately 100 runners in all of the year groups. A special mention also needs to go to Jordan who helped a team mate get through the race when he was having difficulty breathing. Both boys finished the race and
should be extremely proud of their courageous effort.
Thank you to the parents who helped with setting up and packing away as well as all the family and friends who were
there to support our wonderful students.
Our interschool Cross Country team
Thank you Mrs Hutton for preparing our students for this event.
Hi everyone! Time flies really quickly. It’s probably because I
have enjoyed my time here at SBPS. It’s nearly the end of the
term 2, and that means I am going to say goodbye to all of you.
Thank you so much for having me for the last two terms. It was
so exciting to be part of the Indonesian classes in this lovely
school. It’s so vibrant, engaging, and inspiring too! The kids
participated well in the classroom, it is beyond words when
every time I saw them out of the school, they call out my name,
greet me with Indonesian. The staff are incredibly amazing and
so welcoming that I always looking forward to go to the staff
room for morning tea and lunch. Last but not least, big thanks to
my partner in teaching, Ibu Michelle Zulsdorf. I learnt so much
from her about the classroom management, lesson planning,
and everything. I can’t believe that I am leaving this school
soon. However, I wish all the best for SBPS, and have a great
holiday. Sampai Jumpa!
P.S. Thank you to Zacky. It was a great honour to have you in
our school with our students really benefitting from your exper-
tise. Sampai Jumpa. Mr Harvey

traditional dance for the kids.
Following the Fun Run on Friday 5th June the sponsor sheets and money raised has been collated and sent off by the P&C.
Prizes will be distributed when they arrive at school.
The class to raise the most amount was Room 7. The three highest fundraising students were Isabel from Room 1, Maya
Sutton from Room 15 and Adam Fontana Room 8.
Congratulations to all students and families for their wonderful
support for this event.

Virtue of Friendliness
Meaning
Friendliness is being a friend. It is taking an interest in other people. It is going out of your way to make others feel welcome or to make a stranger feel at home. When you are friendly , you happily share your feelings. You
share the good times and the bad times together.
Friendliness is the best cure for loneliness
Signs Of Success
You are practicing friendliness when you
Like yourself and realize you have a lot to offer
Smile and greet someone you don't know
Get to know someone and let them get to know you
Show an interest in others
Show caring when a friend needs you
