Hard to believe, but we at Mailing Systems Technology are celebrating our 25th year this year. That means that for a quarter of a century, we have been focused on the mailing industry, keeping mail center professionals like yourself up-to-date with all the latest happenings. It is in the spirit of providing you with as many resources as possible that we have put together the 2012 Source Guide.

In the following 16 pages, organizations that cater to mail center professionals — no matter what their job responsi-bilities — have provided quarter-page descriptions of their products and services. These are organized by category, so flip through and see if anything catches your eye. MAXIM NPI

In its standard configuration, the OMEGA is a portable MLOCR/

BCR capable of being operated by a single individual. MLOCR

processing speeds range from 7,200-10,000 mailpieces per hour,

while the BCR version reaches 18,000 mailpieces per hour. The

OMEGA can be configured as a letter or mixed-mail sorter. The

slower speed allows for multiple OCR software lookups/recog-

nition attempts of an address block before printing the bar-

code. Once barcoded, the mailpieces can be re-introduced into

the mail flow, sorted and trayed along with other mail. Stackers

may be added in five-pocket increments to up to 18 pockets

before the OMEGA becomes stationary.

The Vsort is NPI’s product solution to mailers that need the

capabilities to sort mailpieces up to one-half inch thick. The

double-sided mixed mail MLOCR/BCR sorter has an opera-

tional throughput of up to 24,000 mailpieces per hour. Modu-

lar design is also incorporated into the Vsort, allowing output

stacker modules to be provided in either a normal pocket or a

chute con� guration. This option allows sorting to take place

with multiple-weight mailpieces in one mailing. A required

manifesting report would then be generated to the USPS with

the information on the different weights of the mailpieces

within the mailing.
