In industrial practice hence in the norms it is divided in three parts:</p><p>the part reference is a simple and convenient code referred to a part exclusively in the project of a product (it is auxiliary); it can also include a group definition;</p><p>the reference designation is a code who can be used to better specify a part number (it is auxiliary);</p><p>the part number is the effective code who identifies a part, in an organization; it is absolutely invariable and it can be used along the whole product lifecycle, even longer when a component is the element of a platform (it is essential data).</p></li><li><p>TECHNICAL REPRESENTATION PLAN2.
