History Solvida Energy Group, Inc. (SEG) was founded in early 2009 as an answer to a growing need in the dynamic

PV industry - more predictable and effective project execution. We began as a pure consultancy providing

seasoned, actionable advice to a handful of select clients. We now offer a full suite of services to EPCs,

module manufacturers and BOS (Balance of System) manufacturers around the world. In 2014, SEG

successfully created a second company, Solvida Design+Engineering Inc. to provide clients with innovative

and efficient turnkey solar project designs. SD+E’s 2015 design pipeline exceeds 80MWDC.

Copper Mountain Solar I

This project was the largest fully operational solar farm in the United States at the time it was constructed.

Solvida was the primary consultant to Henkels and McCoy, the project’s EPC contractor. This was the first solar project built by H&M. There were over 40 EPC contractors bidding to First Solar for this high profile project. The project consists of First Solar 75 watt solar modules in a fixed tilt orientation, Siemens inverters and a high voltage substation.

As the lead consultant, Solvida provided the following services:

•  Reviewed subcontractor RFP requirements

•  Performed detailed analysis of project bid design package

•  Developed bid strategy

•  Performed detailed value engineering on DC low voltage system

•  Led cost estimating for civil, mechanical and electrical labor

Confidential Project

This project is a 60MW ground mounted single axis tracker located in Central California. The developer has

secured Interconnection Agreement and Conditional Use Permit. To determine the best technology combination for the project, Solvida developed indicative design packages for thin film fixed and tracking arrays as well as crystalline fixed and tracking arrays. We interfaced with top solar EPC firms to develop comparative construction bids. Solvida developed a report summarizing the technical and financial qualities of each technology combination. Solvida is the primary consultant supporting the developer’s pre-construction initiatives.

As the lead consultant, Solvida provided the following services:

•  Secured component bids from crystalline and thin film module vendors

•  Developed comparative performance modeling for each technology combination

•  Utilized proprietary financial model to develop LCOE, IRR and NPV comparisons between the 4 technology combinations

•  Authored report summarizing the pros/cons of each technology option and advised client on the right

technology for their project
