Venezia Restaurant 24 Soi Sukhumvit 11, Sukhumvit Road, Klongtoey Nua, Wattana, Bangkok 10110 Tel: 0-2254-6655, 0-2254-6356 Open Daily: 11:30 AM to 11:30 PM. Venezia, located next to the Bed in Soi Sukhumvit 11, is an Italian restaurant worth discovering near BTS Nana station here in the heart of Central Bangkok. We found the menu extensive with a wide selection of interesting Italian dishes to choose from, including special menus for our vegetarian friends. We noted a broad selection of cocktails and a fine selection of wines with emphasis on Italy. The restaurant concept is one of that exuding a friendly, cozy, warm and family type environment; customers feel the comfort the moment they come in. Hospitality is a key issue and the blending of Italian and Thai culture works remarkably well here. Decorated to make you feel Venice, the striking pano- ramic views we saw do just that along with the distinctive wallpaper and the colour red which is key in setting the tone of the restaurant. Speaking of food, vegetarians will enjoy the veggie menu and we recommend the Raviolli in Truffle sauce (available at 380 Baht), the most popular amongst vegetar- ians and non-vegetarians. The price of this dish we could say is associated with the market price of Truffles but when com- pared to taste of this dish you will forget the expense. One of their secrets we are told is that the sauce is in fact imported direct from Italy. Venezia also offers what’s on tonight menu, you better request it first. Main course suggestions are multiple starting with; grilled monk fish filled with spicy tomato sauce or braised veal osso buco with mashed potato or better still a rack of lamb provencale if you like tomatoes. For desserts, we liked the chocolate Truffle and Tiramisu. We also appreciated the wide selection of cocktails starting with the “Barcardi Mojito”, a mixture of Bacardi rum, lime, brown sugar, mint, and soda packing quite a punch. If you are looking for a lively and cozy venue with great authentic food, a decent singer and fine service, try Venezia out. Prices are within expected levels considering the quality of the menu. For two (2) expect a tab in the range of 2,800 to 4,500 Baht including wine. “Critic rating: 3.8/5” ink it Group Co., Ltd. Tel: 0-2661-2893 E-mail: [email protected]
