Leadership in Energy Efficiency and SustainabilityBOMA International has led the commercial real estate industry in establishing groundbreaking sustainability initiatives for existing buildings.

• 7-Point Challenge – In 2007 BOMA issued the “7-Point Challenge” calling on the industry to realize a 30 percent savings in energy usage by 2012 based on an ENERGY STAR “50” or average building rating. The 7 Point Challenge has been universally accepted in the industry.

• BOMA Energy Efficiency Program (BEEP) – A major educational initiative launched in 2006 that teaches important no- and low-cost operating strategies, BEEP has been embraced industry-wide as basic training in all aspects of energy efficiency. The Sustainable Operations Series (SOS) is a complementary Webinar series to BEEP, teaching the implementation of sustainable practices in commercial properties.

• Award-Winning Programs – The Environmental Protection Agency recently awarded BOMA International the 2009 ENERGY STAR® Sustained Excellence Award and the prestigious 2009 Climate Protection Award.

• Energy Policy – BOMA International has been involved in energy legislation for years to ensure that voluntary energy efficiency programs are encouraged and mandates are not implemented without off-setting initiatives.

• Commercial Real Estate Energy Alliance (CREEA) – BOMA has partnered with the Department of Energy (DOE) and top executives from the commercial real estate sector to launch CREEA, a DOE-coordinated initiative aimed at achieving deep energy savings while preserving and enhancing marketability, profitability and tenant satisfaction.

• BOMA Energy Performance Contract Model (BEPC) – BOMA and the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI) collaborated on the ground-breaking BEPC model that allows building owners to perform major energy retrofits to the existing buildings by removing key barriers and providing a turnkey solution.

The Green Pavilion and ENERGY STAR® Showcase: Where Sustainability and Profitability Unite The Green Pavilion – produced in partnership with the U.S. EPA’s ENERGY STAR Program – is a section within The Every Building Show that highlights exhibitors with green and energy-efficient products and services. With the commercial real estate industry’s strategic focus on driving value through all means possible, the financial benefits of sustainability are more important than ever. Your exhibit in the Green Pavilion demonstrates your company’s commitment to protecting the environment and helping the commercial real estate industry achieve sustainability.

“The BOMA conference was an incredible experience for me. I had the chance to network with other commercial real estate professionals from all over the world. The tradeshow was perfect for one-on-ones with product and service providers in a more relaxed atmosphere than everyday property management.”

Introducing The Every Building Show: A New Name that’s a Perfect Fit The BOMA tradeshow has always been about all kinds of buildings, all kinds of properties, in all parts of the world. It’s time the name reflected the reality of the show, so, starting in 2010, please welcome The Every Building Show.

We’ve Tailored the Show’s Schedule to Fit YoursWe’ve revised the tradeshow schedule to meet the demands of both attendees and exhibitors. The 2010 Every Building Show will span two days rather than three. By reducing the number of days, we have eliminated one-night’s hotel and travel expenses and helped to make the overall cost of both attending and exhibiting lower and more affordable.
