This Wednesday, the Commonwealth Bank team came and presented our school captains and some of our excited Foundation students with the cheque for $10,000. The Bendigo Advertiser came along to take photos of the presentation, so I encourage you to click on this link, or hop on the Bendigo Advertiser website to have a look at the article. I would like to say a big thanks once again to the Commonwealth Bank for providing this funding and I look forward to showing them our great playspace once it is developed. Phoenix FM Interview Last Friday, our School Captains, Lainey, Lachie, Sophie, Ollie, and I were invited to speak about our school, our leadership roles and our role models on Phoenix FM, one of our local radio stations. The hosts of the show, John and Janine, and I were all blown away by the professional manner in which our captains spoke during the interview and how articulate they were in their responses. They were magnificent advocates for our school and we can all be very proud of them. Cross Country Update I would like congratulate Emma B who represented our school at the Regional Cross Country Event in St Arnaud on Tuesday and placed fifth in the 9-10girls age group. Emma has now qualified for the State Cross Country Championships in Melbourne on July 19th. Well done Emma, and all the very best for the State Finals! Visit from Lisa Chesters Tomorrow, Lisa Chesters will be visiting our school and taking the time to chat to our Student Leadership Team about their leadership roles across the school and what these roles meant to them personally. Our students will also have the opportunity to ask Lisa about her role in parliament and about her leadership journey. I am sure it will be a very informative Q and A session and a great experience for our student leaders. Energy Break Through BBQ The Energy Break Team and I are very thankful to everyone who came along to assist the EBT BBQ at Bunnings last weekend. Every sausage sold helped add extra funds to our EBT challenge, so thanks for your support! Crazy Hair Day Next Wednesday 13th June, our Junior School Council members are organising a Crazy Hair Day as a special fundraiser to collect money for research into Cystic Fibrosis. So please make sure you come along with your craziest hairstyle and bring a gold coin donation to help out this worthwhile cause. SPS Trivia Night for Grown Ups Put your thinking caps on, get a team of friends together and come along ready to enjoy a great, fun filled evening! On Friday 22nd June we will be holding our Trivia Night for Grown Ups at the Strathfieldsaye Sports Club. Doors will open at 7:00pm and the Trivia fun will begin at 7.30pm. The cost will be $10 per person with all funds raised going to support homeless youth in Bendigo. Lost Library Books Sadly, every year a number of our precious library books never return to school after being borrowed by our students, so unfortunately we need to charge families for these missing books to ensure our library is main-tained. Payments for missing books can be paid at the Office. If payment hasn’t been paid for a book that is more than 50 days overdue, we will need to add a $20.00 charge to the family account.

Breakfast Club Friday morning – doors open at 8.30am, Breaky Club is co-ordinated by our chaplain Mitch Lovell and a team of volunteers Every Friday there will be cheese toasties, fruit and milk on offer, so feel free to drop in and enjoy!

All food has been kindly donated by Strath Village Bakers Delight

and Strathfieldsaye IGA.

Strathfieldsaye Intersection Upgrade

– Tannery Lane closure

To safely build the next phase of the new intersection we need to close a small section of Tannery Lane for

approximately seven weeks, weather permitting.

From Monday 21 May until Saturday 14 July Tannery Lane will be closed at Strathfieldsaye Road and a de-

tour will be in place via Ryalls Lane and Guys Hill Road.

VicRoads asks that users please observe the changed conditions for the safety of all road users and our workers.
