MS SCHOONEMAN’S SPECIAL NEWS
Look out for our new Digital Leaders, Buddies, Library Helpers and School Council Reps in an upcoming
newsletter. Congratulations to all of our leaders. Fulham Primary is very proud of you!
Will start on Monday the 17th of September. Please see
the school office if you would like to see what places are
still available.
School Council update School Council Elections will be taking place later this half term. Children who would like to represent their class will have the opportunity to present their vision to their class mates through a short speech which will take place in their classrooms. Following these presentations, the whole school will get the opportunity to vote for their chosen candidate on Polling Day. More information and dates will follow. Those children who would like to be a School Councillor can start thinking about what they might like to say to their classes now!
On Monday the Poppies and Bluebells all dressed up as their favourite sports star or athlete and went to Virgin Active as part of our launch day for our new topic 'What Do I Need to be Me?'. The children were able to participate in a mini tennis lesson and a circuit training class inside the gym. The instructors even gave a talk about healthy eating. We had a fantastic afternoon!
YEAR ONE TOPIC LAUNCH DAY
CHILDREN GOING HOME ALONE It is very important for us to know if your child walks home by themselves at the end of their day at school i.e. from 3.15 or after a club. Please let us know, in writing, if this is so, detailing the days and times that your child will leave the premises, and hand this letter into the school office. We only permit children to go home by themselves when they are in years 5 and 6. Thank you!
Parent Volunteers Ms Boon, our new Deputy Headteacher, will be holding a meeting for any
parents who are interested in volunteering in school this year. There are lots
of different ways in which you can support our children’s learning. If you are
interested in finding out more, please join us on Monday, 24th September at
9.15am in the Meeting Room. Please register your interest with the School
Office where they will ask you to fill out a form with all your contact details.
Twitter We have a brand new

FREE ‘Magic Breakfast’ for ALL
Children!
8.40 – 8.55am in the playground
Breakfast bagels have been running for one week
now and we hope you are all enjoying them.
The bagels are donated free to us from the above
charities and we hope to make the most of the
service.
We will continue to serve the bagels in the
playground at the same time next week. We
would love to hear your comments and feedback
on the service, please do let us know.
We would like to say a huge thank you to
Shirley and Sebastian from the Parents
Association for handing out the bagels every
day, and to Kathy for preparing them.
Without you it couldn’t have been done!
We look forward to seeing you at breakfast!
TOPIC LAUNCH DAY IN YEAR 5
We experimented with Greek clay pot shapes and tried some delicious Greek food. We even
held a mini Olympic Games!
Year 4 Panthers Topic launch Vikings
Monday 10th September saw a very successful launch into our
new topic in Year 3 ‘Animals Including Humans’. We barely
recognised the children dressed in their fabulous animal
costumes and after sharing some fascinating animal facts we
went to the playground to classify ourselves into carnivores,
omnivores and herbivores. We extended our learning by
creating a special menu for each type of animal and finally
discussed whether we think humans are carnivores, omnivores
or herbivores. Humans must be animals too!
