Exalted Ruler’s Message the membership. Many of you haven’t seen the countless hours that he has given. It has always been with cheerfulness and a positive attitude. I truthfully believe that we would not be where we are today as a Lodge without Ken at the helm. From all of us, thank you my friend. Future: Let’s have fun. Let’s do neat things for people. Let’s bring in new members that want to get active and finally let’s work on closing out the old Lodge with dignity and open the new lodge with excited Elks that want to be part of a new chapter in the life of BPOE Lodge 325!
prior to that and the Building Committee and Officers are work-ing hard to make it all happen. Now next, how about things around the Lodge, am I going to change anything? The short answer is proba-bly little or nothing. ER Ken and the officers under his direction have done a great job of getting our Lodge on sound financial and op-erating footing. Pro-cesses are in place where officers and committees know their responsibilities and op-erate within guidelines set for them. I intend to follow his lead and hold to those guide-lines. I shouldn’t go any fur-ther without stopping to thank PER Ken Hines for his dedication and leadership the last three years. It’s amaz-ing how he has been able to dedicate so much time, energy and caring to our Lodge and

Happy Spring to my fel-low Elks 325 members! Well this is my first arti-cle as Exalted Ruler and you’re probably waiting with baited breath to find out what I am all about and what’s going to happen in the next few months. I’ll start by saying that change is coming, but not right away. It’s true that our Elks property is under contract to sell and it’s true that we have issued a Purchase Agreement to buy the Lumber Mart property on Mill St. in Plymouth. After that, everything is dependent on the pur-chaser and City of Plym-outh. The purchaser has to close on this property and the City has to ap-prove our plan and liquor license transfer. But please be assured that as Tom Cruise said it Top Gun: “Everything’s lookin’ good so far.” July is pegged as a closing date for our property. That leaves us quite a number of things to do

Greetings to all Senior Elk mem-

have survived another cold winter
and thankfully look forward to
warm weather spent outside enjoy-

installation of our new officers for
the coming year. They include,
Nancy Comben as treasurer, Don-

have Connie Melton as our sun-

Westerfield for all her hard work
lining up the now elected people
and a special thanks to all those
who have stepped up and accepted
their positions. At our March

new members, Vivian Biegun and
Doug Hincker. We encourage
all you seniors out there to come
give us a try. Our meetings are
at noon on the second Tuesday
of each month in the lounge ex-

Please come and spend some
time with us, the welcome mat is
always out. We also encourage
everyone to continue to support
all the activities of the Elks. As
the nice weather has finally ar-

ORGAN DONATION The Gift of Life
The need for more organ and tissue donors is critical.
Last year 150 people in Michigan died waiting for a
life saving organ transplant. Over 2,600 Michigan-
ders are waiting for an organ transplant currently.
The Elks have taken a position to aid in the worth-
while endeavor to register as many persons as possi-
ble.
Signing the back of your license or the back of your
Elks card is not enough. Signing the donor registry is
the best way to ensure your wish to become a donor
is carried out.
To learn more about organ donation, or to sign up on
the Donor registry, you can go on line to:
giftoflifemichigan.org, call 800-482-4881 Or pick up a form at the Lodge, Please, give the gift of life.

support the 365 Banks program. The special
needs children will benefit from their generosity
and do appreciate what the Elks do for them.
Everyone is reminded to pick up a 365 Banks
