Papa John's Handles PR FiascoHuffington Post
Minhee Cho is probably the wrong person
to do a PR screwup with, as Cho is a PR
person herself. After going to a Papa John's
she tweeted a photo of her receipt, on
which a racial stereotype was applied
instead of her name.
Cho, a PR person for journalism non-profit
ProPublica, posted the photo to her Twitter
page, where it was soon viewed by tens of
thousands of people within hours. Papa
John's apologized on Facebook, saying the
person who'd done it had been terminated.

Coors Light Tops Bud as No. 2 Beer
Coors Light knocked Budweiser off its perch to become the second best-selling beer by
volume in the U.S. last year, according to Beer Marketer's Insights.
The new No. 2 brew ended the year 2011 with sales of 18.23 million barrels, a 0.8% gain.
Budweiser slipped 4.6% to 17.7 million barrels.
Coors Light is made and marketed by MillerCoors, a joint venture of SABMiller and Molson
Coors. Budweiser is owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev, which also sells Bud Light, still the
No. 1 beer in the country.
But the trade magazine noted that it is the first time in almost 20 years that Anheuser-Busch
didn't control the top two brands.
At its apex in 1988, Budweiser sold about 50 million barrels.

Google Merges Search and Google+ Into Social Media Juggernaut
Now we know Google’s master-plan for integrating Google+ ever more deeply into the
Google ecosystem: Pour the whole thing into Google search. Starting today, Google+
members, and to a lesser extent others who are signed into Google, will be able to
search against both the broader web and their own Google+ social graph. That’s right;
Google+ circles, photos, posts and more will be integrated into search in ways other
social platforms can only dream about.
Google calls the search update “ “Search plus Your World.” Jack Menzel, product
management director of search, explained that now Google+ members will be able to
“search across information that is private and only shared to you, not just the public web.”
Google calls this access to “your web.” So instead of all the public information that is
already available to everyone searching via Google, so you can see information that you
posted into Google’s new social network and on some of Google’s other services like
Picasa Web.

Apple In-store Shops In Target?Apple Insider
Apple will be opening new store-within-a-store locations in select
Target locations later this year, to reach smaller metro areas. A
source said Apple will operate branded areas within 25 larger Target
stores in locations that can't support a standalone Apple Store.
Target, the second-largest discount retail chain in the U.S., operates
1752 stores in the nation. Apple has opened 359 of its own retail
stores globally, 245 of which are in the U.S. Apple currently also
operates a "store within a store" at over 600 Best Buy locations with
"Apple Shops," some of which feature staffing by Apple solution
consultants. Best Buy has over 1,000 total stores in the U.S.
